We are traveling from Minneapolis to Bentonville for three days. We found AKiN’s on Google maps. We visited here yesterday, and found many good products, including a big bottle of Kefir. We asked if they sell ice, and the cashier said she can give us a small bag of ice. We liked this shopping experience, so we went back today to buy some soaps. Because the ice we got yesterday melted, we asked if we can get a bag of ice. The cashier refused to give us ice, and said that ice is only for the customer who bought items that need to be cooled. I explained that we bought lots of items that need to be cooled from yesterday, and we still need to cool the kefir. We don’t need to buy more drinks since our drinks from yesterday still haven’t finished. They still refused to provide us with a bag of ice. My impression of Bentonville city becomes it is a city that isn’t caring for their visitors. My suggestion is that: tourists bring lots of income to your shop, and to the city. Just give them a bag of ice when they need. Or sell a bag of ice. I could have asked to talk to a manager on this issue, but we explored the city for a whole day, and tired at that point. So I decided to post this review. I hope this can help the store improve their customer service quality. (The first photo is how our cooler is right now. The ice from yesterday...
Read moreWednesday I stopped in here for some Bergamot Oil. I prefer the "Now" brand as it works for me and is a decent price. They have not had it in stock for months. I was approached by a young girl who asked if I was finding everything ok. I responded that no, I wasn't finding what I wanted and was not happy. The oil I wanted hadn't been in stock for months. They have many other oils in that brand, just not the Bergamot. What they DO stock is several brands that START at TWICE the price of the now for a bottle HALF the size. She rather rudely told me then that "It's corona! we can't help it!". With that response I told her I'd be shopping elsewhere. As I turned to walk out she snarkily told me "Have a nice day"..... There ARE other stores in the area that carry the same or similar products as Akins. If they can't carry what I'm looking for or are going to be rude, I don't need to spend my money there. I will say this IS the very FIRST time I've ever had ANYONE in that store that wasn't helpful and polite but this girl put a HUGE black mark on...
Read moreAKiN’S Natural Foods surprises me with their extensive product lines. I focus on maintaining my health as well as taking preventative measures. The staff is close by and offers assistance without hovering too close. I appreciate their expertise. Like all stores, I find some things to be very reasonable and others to be a little pricey. But there are bargains at Akins if you look for them. They also have fresh sandwiches and soups and a small dining area. The freezer section has an extensive line of yummy foods to eat. Aitken’s has a nice selection of hair products, body lotions, soaps, etc. I always select an item from the brand “Rescue Remedy”. The grocery section has numerous chips and other snack items. AKiN’s has the best Sourdough Bread I have ever tasted. It’s a fun story to visit and you’re sure to find something perfect for your taste buds. The parking lot is big and of course the store is very clean. Their hours are Sunday through Saturday, 8:00...
