I have been to the Soup and Salad Shop one time prior today in the old location, I can’t comment on the food quality today because we never got to the point of ordering. I am appalled at my experience, first of all Aliyah instead of ignoring a customer you don’t want to serve ask someone else to take over the table, or be an adult in a professional setting and remove your own personal feelings from it we all deal with things we don’t like and people we don’t like, instead of making us feel like unwanted guest and ignoring our table and serving everyone else, after a fifteen minute wait with no service we elected to leave as we were on a lunch break. We left quietly, just chalked it up to apparently our business isn’t needed, that’s what I get for trying to support locally. We get in the car, drive off, and pretty soon this lady is running after us, as we are driving knocks on the window, asks if we were the two ladies that were using profanity at the staff and called one of her employees an inappropriate name, excuse me. But we did the appropriate thing by politely leaving and not saying a word about our experience, you chased us down to make a scene, falsely accuse us of using foul language in a moderately busy restaurant, but have the time to make the comment that you understand there’s family history there, which tells me you were aware we weren’t being provided a service especially since we were already in a vehicle driving off, and then to offer us as the owner to provide us food at no charge after we spent a good portion of our lunch hour already there. I’m more interested in why you didn’t ask us why we decided to leave instead of jumping down our throats and making accusations, if we had said something it was done we left.
I know feel very uncomfortable and awkward about returning, even if it were to...
Read moreOkay, I was terribly misled about reading the first 5 star review! I’m a vegetarian and this restuarant is a poor quality restuarant!! The person on the phone said there were 200 items—probably counting salt and pepper and croutons, salad dressings, etc. Something was sour in my salad—probably the cut up tomatoes, or shredded can beets or the baby corn—I couldn’t tell what it was—-six dollars for a side salad—awful—the baked potato itself was okay—but she didn’t put enough buttter —she said I could sub veggies for bacon & cheese & sour cream. The potato was cut in half with (some) butter on it & steamed veggies on top—soo dry—they said I could put cottage cheese on it & gave me a Tbsp of more butter—-loaded??? It got me thru lunch but next time—-it’s Mexican or Mountain Mikes!! I usually take pictures but this didn’t look enough for a picture—prices are way out of line for what they’re serving!! Poor excuse for a salad bar—my first gut feeling was right—I should have walked out when I looked at the salad bar—the tiny container servings in plastic & the high priced...
Read moreThe owner posted that my original review was unfair when I first posted about soup running out, over peppered soup, lack of sides, crowded--those things were all true, but I could have extended more grace to her. We are used to a restaurant, dine-in experience and had only tried this place at the recommendation of a couple of our younger friends--this is not that kind of experience. From the crowd that was lined up out the door, it is apparently a very popular place for many. I'm a soup fan all the way so I was excited to try this place. I'm still a soup fan, but will probably still not come back because it's just not our type of experience. I wish the owner well--it's hard to keep a business these days. I can't give more than 3 stars overall based on our experience which is all I have to go by. And for the owner who said that I only wrote a bad review because she ran out of the tomato basil soup that I really wanted try, that's not true. A friend also recommended the chicken pot pie soup that tried that I couldn't eat. I was open to the...
