Today I went into Between The Buns for the first time since it has gone under new ownership. I went in to order a sauce that we have had previously for Christmas. My daughter's visiting from out of town and this sauce has always been one of her favorite things to have at Christmas time. In fairness, I asked for the green sauce that had been made by the previous owners and didn't specifically ask for the dipping sauce. After we left we realized that the sauce that we received was nothing like the dipping sauce that we had ordered in the past. I called and asked if there was a way they could add the blue cheese dressing to the green sauce that they gave us to make the dipping sauce. They said that they couldn't and that we would have to pay $6.50 if we wanted the dipping sauce. I called once again and said I was confused by that because it would seem that they could use what we got and merely add the blue cheese dressing to make it into the dipping sauce. The owner became indignant, confrontational, and rude. Ultimately he ended the conversation by telling me if I wasn't pleased he would give me my money back but never sell me anything again. Obviously, that's an unacceptable attitude for a owner. I let him know that I would never purchase another item in the restaurant and that I would be sure to share my experience with everyone I know. Needless to say, I would not recommend eating at Between The Buns.
Update In Response To Owner:
I did not threaten or become angry with the employees. I was cordial with everyone I talked to with the exception of the owner and I only responded negatively to him after he spoke to me in a hostile fashion. The owner's depiction of me was blatantly inaccurate and unacceptable. If Between The Buns hopes to survive the trials and tribulations of Covid-19, the owner needs to focus on building relationships with patrons not...
Read moreA friend asked me to join her for lunch. I was hesitant due to a bad experience years ago when I came in and sat at a table for quite some time and no one came to serve me. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, the friend wants to try a place we’ve never ate at and I agree to eat here. My friend and I both ordered the special which was a turkey sandwich and side for $10. The turkey, and bread (hoagie bun) were both very low quality cheap as cheap gets food. I ordered the potato salad which was as bland as can be. My friend had the clam chowder which she said was the worst she had ever had and it was not hot or even warm enough to eat. We both had drinks which were another $2. Add on a tip and you are out $15 Per person for cheap, very low quality food. The decor is straight out of the 80’s and not in a good way at all. The entire place is dingy and cluttered with fake and real house plants. Oh and when it came time to pay, their card machine wasn’t working right, it took us 10 minutes of standing at the register to pay and get...
Read moreOK so I am usually not the one to do this but as I am taking another bite of this "sandwich" I realized I'm a little disgusted and unhappy. So I order the "Surprise" sandwich with turned out to be a Ruben. All I can say it don't waste your time. I'm sorry the people were nice and the service was good but the sandwich was just not good. The toast was soft toasted so it had the marks but no crunch so my sandwich was instantly soggy. To much sauce (not sure what is was), very little meat. It was a Ruben fit for a 7 year old I used by the size. I could have made a better sandwich at home. Granted now I wish I brought a lunch cause I could have saved me a nice chunk of money. The want to be Ruben was $9.50 I asked for avocado which brought my bill to almost $11. I wish I did not leave a tip considering how much damage it did to my wallet. I should have saved my money for sushi at least I would be full after spending almost $15. Yes I'm still hungry. Better off going to subway. They at least give you your...
