05.16.24 6:40pm Wow, gross. Old, precooked sliced beef, NO vegetables in the bun (disgraceful), there should be a bunch of shredded lettuce as the bedding, rotting-on-edges tiny amount of vegetables that comes with the pho. When ordering the pork and grilled shrimp bun showed it on the menu to them yet they say I didn't order the one with the grilled shrimp, so they're also blind and irresponsible/denying everything. We think they ran out of shrimp.
If people think this is good pho/bun, just wow, wait until they try real pho places in California. This place isn't real pho/bun, it's some heinous instant version and old ingredients at that.
Never again.
8:28pm RESPONSE TO OWNER; Clearly told you I ordered the one with shrimp AND pork and yet YOU INSISTED I DIDN'T, didn't try to make it right, just continued to DENY.. How dare you lie??? Disgraceful lying people.
Also TOLD YOU the pho vegetables were old, no correction, just ignored it.
The "veggies" in the bun are bits of what looks like leftover crumbs from the bottom of the vegetable bag, if you're Vietnamese you would be ashamed to serve this bun dish like this. There should be a nice big bed of shredded lettuce on the bottom (just Google Vietnamese Bun). We didn't "finish" the meals, we ate what we could stomach then left and now ingested activated charcoal as we don't want food poisoning from your shoddy, old meat, instant broth, rotting vegetable "meals".
There, corrected it for you.
Hopefully a REAL Vietnamese Pho/Bun place opens in Roseburg, we've been suggesting to all of the actually good restaurants we dine at all over California to...
Read moreWe love pho and were delighted for this place to open but we’ve noticed significant discrepancies in portions eg $14 for the amount of steak and broth in the picture is not worth it in my opinion when I can go to 7 Thai and get 2 meals for 10 dollars on Tuesdays. We have given this place several tries and we consistently feel cheated out of portions and that we are not getting our money’s worth. Sushi rolls and pho are different in the restaurant than at home with what appears to be smaller portions, cutting corners, overall dissatisfied after 7 attempts and more or less feeling the same after each meal, like we are being scammed out of money for what we are getting. Maybe if Pho King made the experience better they wouldn’t have to protect their margins with inadequate serving sizes because people would want to come back and buy their food.
The broth is the best part and even that is hit or miss. Sometimes it’s thick and flavorful. This last batch was notably different.
If we ever come back it will be for discounted prices like at lunch but at this point I feel swindled so I don’t...
Read moreUpdate 2/7/2025: Not so much a remodel, but they've made some updates for the better. Food is decent, service was quick. Lunch special was definitely a good deal!
The food was definitely the star of the evening. The pho was potently rich and well bodied. Fried rice was alright-- nothing that really blew my socks off. Would have been nice for a little more green onions in it, just to break up the monotonous color and add in some texture.
Service was decent, fairly prompt to taking our order and food delivery.
Atmosphere needs the most TLC. Chairs and tables are mismatched from one another. And it seems like the dishes don't have any consistency between them either. The music was calm and relaxing... Until Spotify (or otherwise) ads started playing. Surely $10 could be spared per month to avoid that? It doesn't help that the advertising is twice as loud as the...
