I purchased a suit for my wife's funeral on January 17th. I wasn't completely happy with the fit, but I needed a suit for the next day, so I purchased it. The receipt was emailed to me rather than printed. I went back into the store on January 21st and notified a clerk there that I wasn't happy with the fit of the pants. He had me try on a different size that also didn't fit well. He then had me try on a different size of a different color and it was also not a good fit. The problem I was having was that the pants were too clingy in the thighs. I asked if there was a different cut that had a looser fit. He told me what I had purchased was the modern fit and that the classic fit would be looser and claimed that he had me try on a classic fit, but also said that he could only exchange for a different size of the same suit. This was confusing to me. I told him that if I couldn't get a suit that fit well then I needed to return it. He asked me how many times I had worn the suit. I told him "once." He then claimed that he could not accept the return because I had worn the suit once. After some further discussion, I asked to see a copy of the return policy. It was not posted anywhere in the store. He printed a copy of my receipt and said I could go to the web address on the receipt for the return policy. I then left and while in my car, I attempted to access the website to read the return policy. When I went to the address, it took me to a site that asked for an order number and my email address. There was nothing called an "order number" on the receipt but there was a transaction ID. I attempted to enter that number and my email address and received a message saying that the information provided did not match. I then noticed a link below the form that said, "Our Return & Exchange Policy." I clicked on that link and this is what it said:
"Free Returns and Exchanges Not completely happy with your purchase? Not a problem! Exchange or return your purchase within 90 days from the original date of purchase. For exchanges, online orders can only be exchanged in store. For returns, you can return online orders by mail or in stores. If you choose to return by mail, you can then place a new order online, or Contact Us for assistance."
According to the return policy, there is no stipulation about having worn the suit once, twice, or any number of times. If there was some sort of stipulation, it should have been explained to me at the time of purchase, or it should have been posted in the store somewhere. I did not receive a printed copy of the receipt at the time of purchase, and only the link is posted on the receipt, not the return policy. After finding the return policy, there is no stipulation of having not worn the suit for a return. Given this information, it is illegal for Men's Wearhouse to refuse my return. It wasn't my desire to return the suit but rather to get one that fits well. But given the surly attitude of the clerk and how I was treated, I no longer have any interest in...
Read moreWent in to purchase a suit for my son's wedding. Store was busy which was fine as I know it is getting close to prom season. Waited for assistance and the young lady who helped me was nice enough, but seemed to lack the ability to be the expert I needed. I did my best to explain that although I was looking for a suit for my sons wedding I wanted something that I could wear to other various occasions as well as more casual events. She did a quick measurement and showed me what appeared to be the only 2 suits she seemed to have in my size. When she asked about my budget I gave a rough price of $300-500, but that I was more interested in finding a suit that meets my needs and fits well. I also mentioned that I was hoping to get a vest to match the suit. When I did finally settle on one of the 2 suits she showed me and asked to get them tailored. After we started to look at vests and she mostly stood there while I searched the rack. Again I finally settled on a vest that was close enough color and style. When I went to pay I noticed that the prices were not ringing up for the amount listed on the tags. The vest was ringing up at about $6 more and then the suit at $30 more. I was able to get an adjustment and then decide to also purchase a shirt since the prices were still less than my projected budget.
All of this wasn't so bad other than being a little less impressed with the suit selection process until my son arrived to pick up the suit he purchased for his wedding. The gentleman who assisted him seemed very knowledgeable and helpful and even helped make a last minute adjustment in his jacket. As I was talking to his fiancé she was saying how he picked out his lining and everything. That's when I realized he was able to purchase a custom suit tailored the way he wanted. I didn't even know this was an option as I was lead to believe I could only buy what was on the rack.. Had the young lady working with me mentioned that if I didn't quite like what I see I could have gotten something more custom, I most likely would have happily spent the extra money to get exactly what I wanted. At this point I had already bought and paid for my suit and requested all the alterations to be made I feel confident if I would have told her that it wasn't quite what I was looking for, she would have told me to have a nice day and let me leave with nothing in hand. Although I do not necessarily feel that I will be disappointed with the suit after the alterations, I wish I would have had a better salesperson who would have been able to upsell me to purchase a suit that better met all of my...

I work 6 days a week as an Sales Manager an hour away (645am-745pm door to door) and left work early for the occasion that my son waited all day for. Drove hurriedly for an hour and half in pouring rain to pick up my son and get to MWH at 8 at the Roseville Galleria location 12/06/2023
We were finally confronted with rolling eyes, annoyed and ultimately not wanting to be-here attitude by Janelle, who I am told is a store manager?!?!
I have been a faithful client for over 20 years and loved working with Victor at your now-closed Sunrise location
My 13yo has just won a place in the prestigious CMEA Honor Band which he has worked so hard to accomplish
This was to be our first Father-Son outing to MWH to find Concert Black/Tux for his performance on the 15th of this month - which should have been an awesome bonding experience
She was very rude, disinterested and insulting, my son literally asked "did I do something wrong?" which crushed my heart
Another couple even left due her behaviour and the girl looked at my son and I wide-eyed and gave a nervous laugh as they were also, unfortunately receivers of her behavior
She actually told us that that we need to "go to Burlingame coat factory for kids clothes" - he is 5'7" with a 12" neck and 30 inch arm length and and a size 14-16 pants
I mentioned that I would love to get a rental tux, to which she replied "that most likely won't be the right size when it arrives anyway and there was not enough time - his concert is 9 days away!
I understand that my son is of mixed race and does get looks ect from time to time, I really hope this is not the reason for her attitude toward him
Absolute worse experience but a good example to my son for good vs horrible customer service
I cannot believe this transpired and not sure about what is...
