I love this restaurant and the food they make and love the portions. You look at the menu and think,"holly cow! That a lot of money for ""this"" but they always dish you out enough to feed 4-5 people even when you order a "small" order. I never flinched at spending 60-150 dollars at these branch of restaurants, I was able to feed my family of 4 (including myself) for multiple days of 2 things off their menu from a "small" portion. But the other night my wife decided to surprise our family with a simple order of spaghetti with marinara for 40 dollars to feed us through insta cart, and was so disappointed I was ready to walk in and give a piece of my mind about what they gave me. I and my family have Italian heritage and love the way we are spoken to and treated when served within the walls of the restaurant itself but with two small hyber children it isn't always convenient to dine in there or reserve seats. But when ordered for take out I've never been disappointed. But yesterday when my wife spent 40 dollars on spaghetti with marinara sauce (small not personal) no meat balls or anything else I was treated with not enough spaghetti to feed my wife and I and most definitely not enough for my kids. But also even less sauce to cover the pasta that the noodles were pale white that we had to argue over if we had more sauce than the other I was left livid. I do not know if it was a shrug off just because we ordered delivery instead of dining in but I can make 3xs the amount of spaghetti with marinara for 12 dollars. This is an insult to their own name and Italians alike to dare let this exit their doors to someone else's home and charge half a hundred dollars to not feed even 2 people. To be a 5 star restaurant and give this to some one is sick I never want to see this from any bucca di beppo at any location again. I'd expect this kind of service from a door dash delivery from McDonald's but not you guys. Please thoroughly scold or fire whomever charged my wife 40 dollars for the most basic dish on your menu and not deliver your own standards to my house or may the founders of this restaurant chain rise from their graves and give you a good wake up slap to tell you to get you stuff together. I love your food and what this place represents and I never want to receive this kind of insult again. I hope this review stings even the newest employee to strive to do better because what we got is beyond unacceptable even if it was "just a delivery " (yes I gave a five star even though I'm lividly mad at what I got because beside this one experience it is amazing but if I EVER get this kind of service again it will be the last I ever give money to a single restaurant...
Read moreMy girlfriends and I gad dinner here Friday at around 5:30, it wasn’t busy like we expected and I felt silly for having a reservation. We were seated immediately, we sat in a room that was kind of a twist and turn away from the entrance and near the kitchen. We did think the restaurant had an off puttingsmell, not one you would want to smell walking near the kitchen… Our waiter Jose was very friendly and nice. He took our drink order quickly and gave us a rundown of their menu since it was our first time visiting. He was very knowledgable about the menu and made A LOT of suggestions for us and how to order. It was nice, but at times it felt pushy. With our drinks came a small loaf of house bread that was served with oil & balsamic vinegar for dipping. We ended up ordering the Fried Mozzarella, Pepperoni Pizza, Quattro Al Forno, Penne San Remo & a Spicy Arrabbiata Pizza and Tiramisu to go. (We ordered everything in the small serving size)Our food came out quick and hot. And everything looked tasty. I did enjoy being able to try a bunch of different things from their menu at once, I do believe some of their items are pricier than they should be. But that happens at most places. By far our favorite dish was the Pasta San Remo. The Pepperoni Pizza was meh, we didn’t think it was worth $25 our other girlfriend who couldn't make dinner did say she liked her Spicy Pizza though, but still not worth $25. The Tiramisu was probably one of the most bland I’ve had. I wouldn’t order it again, glad I tried it though. Our server started out great, however as soon as we got our food it kind of stopped. A larger party did come in and he was the only server in our area, so I get it. All in all I would come back once every so often, its nice to eat family style. However this location just felt dingy, musty and like it needed a good cleaning and TLC, the booth we were sitting in was duct tape to stop the tearing in the seat. It just seemed a tad rundown and sad inside. Our bill was $188 I believe for everything, We had a $20 off coupon and that knocked us down to $168, but after tip and such it was pretty much...
Read moreSo we had dinner last night at Buca with the whole family. We were craving italian and we were all very hungry. Austin was our server and he did great and was very nice and took care of us very well. Great job Austin. We always love the food and have been to Buca locations a lot of the years. The food is always spot on, the only thing that needs be updated is the decor and cleanliness. Sometimes there is lots of dust, dirt and the overall decore of the buca locations are really bad, last night it looked ok and pretty clean so no issues last night. The corporate HQ needs to update the overall decore, put some money in updating to today and must have crews who clean the place and make sure seats are not ripped or stained. Also, it is either super hot and very cold at buca locations, last night the AC was kick hard and was very cold, but it was ok because it was very hot outside, so the cold AC was fine, but then a customer next to us told Austin to turn the AC down and it started to get very hot and muggy. Another thing I would do is make sure you spread out your customers, when it is not busy, being on top of other guests can be a bit odd at times. The group that just came in after us had very heavy smelly perfume and it was making us all very nauseous, it was so strong that my youngest almost through up. Not Buca's fault and we were almost done eating, so we let it go, but if we got at the same time, we would've asked to be moved. Just be aware of guests and maybe give each of them more room if you are not busy, which you guys were not busy. Like I said we have been to buca a lot over the years and we get it that it is family style and can be pricey, but some of the apps are very overpriced.
Overall Austin did a great job and the food was really good. It is what it is. If someone wants a fancy italian you are not going to Buca, it is blue collar family fun place!
