I decorated a party here and needless to say I would NEVER have any event here myself. The party started at 4pm so my team and o arrived at 3pm to setup. The lady at the front desk wouldn’t let me into the space w/o my client present. She made both myself and my client feel uncomfortable and as if because we were black that we were beneath her. Then gave my client the hardest time in verifying that she was the person who booked the room. I then asked if they had a cart so I could move my equipment. The associate at the desk got an attitude, with me and told me “she doesn’t just have carts to give out”. I had a team member ask if they had any thumb tacks she asked “why do you need thumb tacks? What are you hanging up? And why? Why do you need tape?”. I’ll be honest she seemed as if she didn’t want to provide any help or service to me or my client at all. Horrible! I had a baby shower my there and they were very unprofessional. I will never recommend anyone to rent a room from them! Before I even arrived my decorater informed me that they were extremely rude and continue to state how we are not getting our refund back. Of course she said it was the female, but that man was very nice and understanding. I had to tell the young girl who had to be a teenager or very early 20's that just because I'm black doesn't mean I'm broke. Also told her I have a career so please keep those not receiving a refund comments to herself. She continue to state this was suppose to be over at 7pm and you're not getting a refund. Mind you at 7pm I was gone but the decorator was cleaning up. It's been 3 weeks. I still haven't received a refund or an explanation of why I didn't receive a refund for their office staff. Fantastic staff that cares for the community they serve. Temperature controlled building, valuable community resources and so much more. Clean, friendly atmosphere. Hosts a variety of activities and events for both youths and seniors. They helped me after becoming homeless when no one else seemed to care. There is a gym right in the building as well as many (possibly even a peculiar amount of) public restrooms.
