I have lived in round lake for about 10 years and always loved my next door pharmacy! Love the staff there but I ended up having a terrible experience that still has me shook. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my mothers prescription for her pain after her spine surgery which we have the doctor visit her every morning to check on her pain tolerance, which the doctor said her pills should be ready tonight. Since my mom canāt move around a lot or be in a car at all, I told her I would go because usually itās my father that goes for her. There was a long line so I wasnāt helped until 30 min later so once I was next I spoke to a front desk person and he said the pharmacist will refill your prescription and I said ok sounds good. Once Mr. Mudassar came he asked for the birthdate, house address and the name, he decided to follow through with questions that I felt and definitely confident it was discrimination because he looked at me and kept asking me personal question like; and I quote āwhy do you have three different doctors from completely different locations?ā, āAlso why are they so far apart from each other?ā End quote. So I began to explain to him but realized Iām sure this isnāt regular protocol especially when the delivery of these questions felt like he was being racist! My mother and I were speaking Spanish bc I had to explain to her what he was saying to me and when I told him i wasnāt sure about that due to only knowing that my mom had to get a knee surgery and than a spine surgery and now IV injections due to the high infection she has. So I followed with him saying thatās fine sir Iāll speak to her doctor and see where the discrepancy is. And when I said that he decided to tell me and I quote āyou know what Iām actually not going to give you these pills anymoreā end quote and he crumbled up the bag and threw it on the counter beside him! And I just said in shock Iām sorry what? Because it was just out of the blue because I was confused of the actions of Mr. Mudassar did, I felt like he discriminated me and was racist bc once we finished talking in Spanish thatās when he decided not to give it to us! I spoke to the manager and she tried to have a private conversation with him and I overheard him lying saying bc there was an āerrorā on the account is what he was saying to the assistant manager knowing he didnāt say that to me, thats the reason he said no which I yelled at him saying he didnāt tell me that and said stop lying bc the way he asked me the questions it seemed like he was making it seem like I was abusing these pills him not knowing I am not my mother I was picking it up for her and thatās when he said and I quote āI am rejecting any other prescription sent to this pharmacy from now on for herā end quote. Mr. Mudassar already had it out and ready to ring it up he just DECIDED to not give to me! So my mother went herself with my father to see maybe bc I look young I donāt know I felt like he depicted my mother and me like abusers and it felt completely wrong, I felt embarrassed and looked like abusers! I am never going back to that pharmacy I have never in my 10 years going to that specific pharmacy I am so disappointed in this store bc even the manager there she didnāt want to give me her name. She only gave me the number to Steve but not hers so Iām super disappointed in this store! I work full time and I donāt know most of my mothers information my father would answer those for her Iām just there to help her with her IV injections and do whatever other chores for her to help her recover fast but itās been 5 days and this pharmacy held it that long as well while we were calling them to check bc our doctor said it should be there! I have never been looked at in such a way or in like a cop interrogated me for breaking the law. Customers were around and I felt so embarrassed and uncomfortable I never experienced this before EVER. I would suggest customers to not go to this pharmacy AT ALL or at least not to work with Mr. Mudassar because he will make you feel like your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have never dealt with a worse pharmacy then the Walgreens in Round Lake Beach. An emergency prescription was called in at 10:00 p.m. at night for my son from Lurie's Children's. I called 15 minutes later to find out when to pick it up. I was told it would not be available until the morning. I called at 7:00 a.m. when the pharmacy opened and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I was then told that the medication was in stock but it was not available with my insurance, and so I'd have to find it at another Walgreens and they had no way of helping me do that. I called another Walgreens but it would not go through their system because it had already been processed at the Round Lake pharmacy. I called back Round Lake Beach and this time was told that my prescription had gone through the insurance and had been available last night, but I did not pick it up. I told him that I had called last night and was told it wouldn't be available to pick up. He then tells me that he will reprocess it, but my prescription is now missing from the system and it will be a few hours before they can find it. Mind you this was for an emergency prescription and we were now 10 hours out from when the prescription had been called in. I then called Walgreens corporate office in Deerfield to complain. The customer service rep went from very cheery to very annoyed on my behalf that this had not been handled. She told me that if I did not have the prescription in hand within 2 hours to call them back and they would handle it. They have 90 minutes to get me that prescription right now. I can honestly say I will never ever use the Walgreens in Round Lake Beach ever again. I have used Walgreens all over the country at many different locations and never had a problem until I went to Round Lake Beach. There is a 24-hour pharmacy in McHenry and so, if you do need 24-hour services I would suggest you use that Walgreens and not the Round Lake Beach one. And if it's not an emergency, or you need a vaccination appointment, I would use the Walgreens in Hainesville because they are on time and have their act together and I trust them. In fact when I needed an emergency prescription for my son 2 years ago the pharmacist at the Walgreens in Hainesville stayed open an extra 15 minutes to ensure I could get that prescription that night. That is how a pharmacy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give zero stars if Google allowed such a rating with their reviews. They never have my husbands prescription ready and it takes them forever to process it. His doctor will call in a prescription on their voicemail system and confirm she called it in and they'll put him on hold forever and tell him there's no voicemails. There are times when shift changes will occur and a pharmacist will say yes it's on there and has been on the voicemail for quite sometime. Last week we called prior to going asking when the precrisption would be ready hours after it was called in they told us 1:55. We arrived around that time and there was a bit of a line which I get if they were busy but didn't officially process his prescription to be ready until we were at the register past 2:30 Even though it was bagged labeled and ready to go but we had to wait for them to officially process it in the computer to ring us out . They had at least five people working yet it seems they didnt have anyone's prescriptions ready. There was an older blonde woman working that day as well that showed poor customer service to someone behind us . I understand how frustrating customers can be but when everyone's prescription is late snapping at customer that you haven't had a lunch or bathroom break is unprofessional and completely unnecessary . I don't know what's going on with this staff but they need to hire more people, get it together, or at the very least stop saying something will be ready before they can...
