I live in New York, but after shopping in the area last year, I decided to return to New Jersey to find a communion dress for my goddaughter. First, I want to mention that the boutique is charming, and all the dresses are stunning. However, my experience with customer service was disappointing. When I called to inquire about their hours during the week, the person who answered was brief and lacked a friendly tone.

When we arrived on Saturday, the associate who greeted us was not welcoming. She immediately instructed a customer in front of us, rather than politely asking, not to touch the dresses. Her demeanor was cold and abrupt, and she seemed to be unhappy to assist us. This made me hesitant to make a purchase there. Even my husband, who typically doesn't comment on such things, noticed her rudeness and asked, "Why is she acting like that?"

Despite our experience, my goddaughter fell in love with a dress. After she tried it on and took it off, I asked the sales associate if she could show me the dress my goddaughter liked. However, she was reluctant to hand it over for me to examine. I’m not sure if she assumed we couldn't afford the dresses. We ended up leaving the store for another appointment. I highly recommend you shop elsewhere. What a nightmare! I did not receive the Piccolo Bacio outfit that I ordered and the client service around the incident was even more of a nightmare from this boutique.

I ordered a baptism outfit and accessories a week in advance in which I first reached out to Sara’s to confirm if I expedited the items that I would receive it by 1/12. I received the accessories, but the baptism outfit never showed up. When I reached out to inquire where the item was there was no empathy what so ever! My godson‘s baptism was in two days and I didn’t have an outfit!! When you purchase these types of baptism outfits, they are not typically something you can just run to any store to grab-so you can see what type of situation I was now in. I understand that things happen, but the overall customer service around this was awful. You could tell the manager didn’t care and was shrugging it off. When I followed up about my refund, she said she would process it either today or tomorrow when she has time because it’s “busy”. She should’ve processed the refund on Friday when she knew the item wasn’t going to get here and she didn’t know where it was and not wait 3 days for ME TO CALL again.

For my daughter’s communion, I knew this was the only place that would be able to execute my vision for choice and style of dress. While they have a wide range of price points and dress styles to choose from, they are one of the few boutiques still offering the industries top designers and impeccable quality dresses that are simply above the rest. Going to Sara‘s boutique and working with Maria was the best decision I made in the midst of an extremely busy time. Maria was incredible to work with, as she was knowledgeable, but also patient and extremely organized throughout the process. I am so grateful for her support and presence, as she helped me execute my customized vision for my daughter’s first holy communion.
