I booked hair and makeup services through Blush for myself and my bridal party. The staff at Blush were friendly and nice, however, I think the services were underwhelming. The makeup was very simple even when shown a more glam photo. I could have done my makeup myself and had a better outcome, even after requesting some touch ups. When they service was done, I certainly could have asked for something more aligned to my vision but there is a certain level of fear on your wedding day to having it be messed up, so myself and a few of the bridesmaids ended up doing our own touchups. My makeup was not primed, there was very little contouring/highlighting done, my eyebrows were barely touched. As a bride, I thought my neck and décolleté area would be done, since my dress was strapless and this was not touched (this is something that I've seen as a standard for bridal makeup). Additionally, the makeup was not set well enough to last through the full night. I have had my makeup done many times for many occasions and for any occasion where the MUA knew I would be taking photos, my makeup has been applied and set in a way that it would show up on camera. This experience was not aligned to my expectations and missed the mark on one of the biggest event of my life. When paying $300 plus an automatic 20% tip, you assume the makeup artists would have their craft down and not need much redirection. However, I do not think our expectations were met. My makeup did not take longer nor look different than my bridesmaids $150 makeup, so very curious as to the markup.
I had a feeling that they would not align with my vision of hair and makeup and wish I saw reviews that spoke to this. If you're a natural girlie and/or do not know how to do your own makeup, the services here are adequate. If you are looking for a glam look that is well set and will last throughout the entire night, I would highly suggest you look elsewhere.
Last little thing -- initially Trish, who handled many of the initial back and forth, did not offer a schedule, which is wild for a large party and not aligned with any MUA/hair teams that I have ever worked with in previous weddings across the US and in Mexico. My sister works in the wedding industry and this is not the industry norm. We ended up getting direction at the last minute to "send 5 at 8 and send 5 at 10" which became very confusing and we (on our end) kinda messed things up. Had the schedule been developed in advance, as requested, we would have had a much smoother start to our day as opposed to going into stress mode trying to get my party together. This is, again, something I would assume would be perfected when this is your craft and when over $3,000 is...
Read morePaige and Kim from Blush were so easy to work with.
I did both my hair trial and my wedding day with Paige. After seeing an inspo pic, Paige knew exactly what to do. I really appreciated that she incorporated my natural curl pattern while still using a curling iron to make the waves consistent. At our trial, she was very open to feedback and changes to make sure it looked how I wanted. During the morning of my wedding, Paige set up her phone to replay the 360 view of my hair that she took video of at my trial. I brought a few extra hair pins to elevate the look, and she placed them perfectly. Even late into the night, my head didn’t feel heavy or uncomfortable. I’d highly recommend working with Paige!
Kim did my husband’s hair trial and wedding day proper (he has very long, red hair). During the trial, Kim was incredibly patient as he figured out what he really wanted his hair to look like since he’d never experienced this before. For the wedding day proper, he threw her a curve-ball and wanted to change some parts, and Kim was happy to oblige. The end result speaks for itself. Kim is detail-oriented, listens with intent, and delivers the result iconically. Thanks for making our day extra special, Kim!
The team at Blush is world class. They're fast, easy to talk with, and they make sure you leave looking like a million bucks.

Read moreDon't go for hair color. I went to the owner Paige Feb 15, 2017 for a highlight. I think she is too young and inexperienced to be doing what she tried to do. After I researched what she did, she tried to lift my color x10 levels in one shot. I didn't understand why she was using a bottle for my color and not foils. I started to worry when my scalp started burning. she tried to fix it 3 times using toners. I was in the sink for about 2 hours. My hair was dreadlocked orange straw. That night I had to apply ice packs to my head. To this day it is damaged beyond repair. My hair has thinned, fell out and I am at point where I may have to stop highlights and my hair used to be what people commented about the most. I have spent an absorbent amount of money on products and treatments trying to get it back. I am writing this now because they have a 5 star rating. Maybe other hairdressers there are more knowledgeable or the nail service is great. But my experience ruined my hair. She did refund 100% of my money. UPDATE: The reply is so false and mis-stated. Hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else. Oh, and they deleted the photo I posted of...
