3 stars but that's being generous. A star for cost. Its a reasonable entrance fee for play. Non-jumpers are allowed to free game play for the hour which was nice. Another star for cleanliness, upon entry the tables are clean, games are clean, floors are somewhat clean but look like they could be mopped. I didn't see any staff wiping used tables after each use. Bathrooms are pleasant. Had it not been for an encounter I had with staff, possibly the owner, I was going to plan my son's birthday here in a few months. When we finished signing the waiver and paid for admission, the staff that greeted us was very nice, and informed us that they do allow outside food. I had grabbed some snack items from the supermarket. Came back to set it up. Attempted to join 2 small tables together for more space. Was politely told they don't allow it. Even tho I was a little peeved I put the table back. In the middle of consuming our outside food, we were approached by a man who could've been the owner, I wouldn't know he didn't have a name tag or did he properly greet us or identify himself. He didn't ask if we were having a good time or enjoying the facility..he was initially polite-ish as he commented that he knows we're enjoying our "outside food, but we don't allow "cake, out front here, so go ahead and finish enjoying it and if you can please clean it up after" which is nice enough but was also passive aggressive for the remainder of the interaction. We were caught off guard, I didn't have "cake" it was a mini blueberry loaf. We weren't being messy. I was careful to clean as we consumed our snacks. I told him that the host up front mentioned we can bring outside food but didn't specify what is or isn't allowed, I told him we're not messy people. Thats when he came off as a bit confrontational and retorted "no one is saying your messy people." But it was definitely being inferred. I told him "what's the difference from a box of pizza to what I have here?" He doubled down and said "yes we allow pizza, just 1 box and thats it, we don't allow 'desserts' up here in the front." I felt his tone wanting to provoke an escalation perhaps so we'd be asked to leave, so I diffused it by just agreeing. But I want to point out he said very specifically no "dessert or anything sweet" 🤔 but on the other side of our tables is a cotton candy machine?? And just a little further is the party rooms. Which were occupied. Who's watching the kids in that party to care enough to see the crumbs they are making??? Or cleaning them up fast enough so they don't get tracked everywhere?? So he left us after I chose not to engage in a tic for tac argument, and we quickly put away our outside food and made sure to tidy up, the same man wasn't done he came back to patronize us a little more by asking, "would you guys like forks? I can get you some" I said no and pointed to everything all put away. But this interaction just spewed bad vibes, it didn't make me feel good and unfortunately he lost out on...
Read moreWe recently celebrated my daughter’s birthday party at Funbox Sacramento in Natomas, and it was such a wonderful experience! From the very beginning, the staff went above and beyond to make everything smooth and stress-free.
Our party host, Rhea, was absolutely amazing—super friendly, attentive, and professional. She checked in with us every 15 minutes during the party, helped check in all our guests quickly, handed out wristbands, and explained all the rules and expectations clearly. She really made us feel taken care of the whole time.
A few days before the actual party, my daughter and I unfortunately got sick with COVID, and the manager was extremely accommodating in helping us reschedule. He reassured me that there was nothing to stress about, and that alone made a huge difference.
The facility itself is very clean and well-staffed. The bathrooms were spotless, and the party rooms were so cute that honestly, you don’t need to bring much extra decoration. My only small feedback would be that they only allow 15 minutes to set up before the party, which feels a little short if you have lots of décor. Also, the party room rental is for 2 hours, and the cleaning staff came in about 10 minutes before it ended, which felt a bit rushed. But in the grand scheme, it didn’t take away from our overall experience.
Funbox has only been open a few months, but they are already doing an amazing job. Between the friendly staff, the clean facility, and the management’s care, they truly exceeded our expectations. I would 100% recommend this place for kids’ parties and still give them a...
Read moreFunBox is definitely a hit with kids of all ages—my 4-year-old and 2.5-year-old had a blast running, jumping, and exploring. The setup is colorful and exciting, and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. However, be warned: when the place gets crowded with older kids (like during a school field trip), it can quickly become overwhelming for the little ones. A group of second graders came through and the vibe totally shifted—lots of rough play and running that made it hard for toddlers to safely enjoy the space.
I’d love to see them improve the toddler area and add a designated toddler time—something like 9am to 11am for ages 5 and under would make a big difference for families with young kids.
On the hygiene front, I noticed a number of kids going into the bathroom with just their socks, then returning straight to the jump houses. Definitely plan to wash hands before leaving. Also, there’s a strong plastic smell throughout the space. If they don’t already have air vents, they should seriously consider installing some for better air circulation.
We also took a party room tour. The party rooms are actually really nice—pretty private, clean, and you get the space for two hours. A big plus is that you can bring your own food, and there’s even a small fridge available, which is super helpful for storing drinks or cake.
Overall, we’d go again, but only if we knew it wouldn’t be overcrowded or could come during toddler-specific hours. There’s a lot of potential here, but a few changes could make it even better for...
