Do not trust what they tell you.
I needed to buy a suit (dress shirt, dress jacket, dress pants, belt) , so I called ahead and asked what the refund policy is regarding suits. The lady that I spoke on the phone with (who did not give me her name) said that "yes. You can return suits and dress pants and belts"
So I went ahead and bought everything I needed, which came out to $232.72. Before I finalized the transaction, I had asked the cashier, whose name was Karen, if I could return the suit in case I didn't like it / didn't fit. She told me "yes you can. " I tried everything in the fitting room, and at the time, everything felt great. But after actually wearing the suit for a whole day, the pants and jacket were really tight and uncomfortable. So I went back to JCPENNY 2 days later, to return the suit.
Keep in mind I saved my receipt, along with all the tags to everything, and brought it with me, along with the original hangers and bags that they gave me. I had everything I needed in order to return the suit. When I arrived at the Returns Desk, 2 employees stood there and talked to each other for 5 minutes before realizing / acknowledging me. When I told them I wanted to return the suit, they looked at the suit for 1 second, and told me "We can't return this" When I had asked why, they told me "it needs to have all the tags with it" When I showed them that I had all the tags and extras that the suit came with, they told me "It needs to be attached to the suit" When I attempted to explain to them that I had called and asked about that return, and when I asked the cashier about the return, no one had ever told me that I needed to keep the tags ON THE SUIT in order to return it. They responded with "I'm not sure who told you that, they must have been new, but all our employees talk to each other, and that's the policy. " Then the lady "who had no name tag" pretty much threw the receipt on the counter, while the guy (who also did not have a nametag) put my suit on the counter. They then proceeded to walk away from the counter and kept on talking. They didn't even attempt a resolution. No store credit? No exchange? No gift card? Just a "no you can't return this" ? And since when is that a policy? To have to have the TAGS ON the suit? You want me to go to work with tags on everything JUST to be able to return something? Every other retailer accepts returns with a receipt, some even without, and I don't know of any store that needs you to have the TAGS ON the item in order to return it. The biggest thing that upsets me is that I HAVE BROUGHT THE TAGS WITH ME. They can simply put them back on with their tag gun. But no, it has to be on the item. Now I'm out $200 and have a suit that doesn't fit. Save your money and go somewhere else. Scam artists during the...
Read moreWent to the hair salon today attempting to make an appointment. A nice lady greeted me as I walked inside. I explained to her the hairstyle I desired. She referred me to Chris. Because Chris was styling the hair of a customer. I patiently stood there waiting. This young lady came back to me and told me to go on over stand to the side and ask Chris about the hairstyle I desired. As I walked closer, the customer noticed me, we both said hello. I said excuse me Ms. Chris she looks at me with a nasty, irritated look. I said I'm sorry but your coworker told me to come right over and speak to u. She replied, "I'm with a customer". I replied, " your coworker told me to come over now and speak with you". With that same nasty demeanor, Chris said "I don't know why she told you that. I'm with a customer and I cannot interrupt my customer. You can wait if u want to but i have another customer after her so its up to you". She then turn right around and chuckle with her customer. Because I only came to her based on the direction of her coworker there is no way i deserved such unprofessional and rude treatment. I only wanted to make an...
Read moreHorrible and unexceptable customer sevice from two employees in the jewelry department! When there to return a necklace that I bought for my wife...nothing wrong with it, she just didn’t like it. Went to a counter where Marlene was restocking merchandise. Told her I would like to return or possibly exchange my necklace. I had the receipt and tag and bag that velvet bag it came in. Immediately upon hearing this Marlene walks to another counter where she then argues with another employee James about who was going to help me. Right in front of me. They were both not happy that the necklace was purchased at a different JcPenny location. Marlene is telling James the she has another customer she’s helping (not true) and that was why she didn’t want to help us. James also was not with another customer. He had just moments before finished a transaction. James then begrudgingly starts to help as I said to the both of them “since neither of you are willing to help, just give me back the necklace and I’ll go to the other store”. I then went and found Ruby the store Assistant Manager where she graciously...
