85°C Bakery Cafe - Arden Fair Mall — Restaurant in Sacramento

It was my first time visiting the bakery, and I must say, I was not disappointed. However, I did notice a few areas where there could be improvement.

Firstly, the bakery had only two cakes remaining when I arrived: a mango cake and a red velvet cake. Considering that the establishment is a bakery, I would have expected a wider variety of cakes to be available, especially since there were two empty stands next to the cake display.

Secondly, there was only one cashier attending to customers when I joined the line. Fortunately, another cashier noticed the growing line and promptly came to assist, which was appreciated.

Despite these minor issues, I must commend the bakery on the quality of their fresh bakery items. I ended up purchasing several of these items, along with a caramel smoothie, which was exceptionally delicious and satisfying.

While I may not return to this bakery specifically for their cakes, I would certainly consider visiting again to try their other fresh...

I had a really disappointing experience at this bakery and café. After making a purchase, I asked for the restroom key, but they refused to give it to me because it was 30 minutes before closing. They claimed the restroom was already locked for the night, which I find completely unacceptable—especially in a place that serves food and drinks.

As a pregnant woman, this was especially frustrating and uncomfortable. After consuming food and beverages, customers naturally expect access to basic facilities. It’s shocking that a café, where people come to relax and enjoy their time, would deny such an essential need. My first experience with 85 cafe was when I was in SoCal and loved it so while I was visiting a friend in Sacramento I had to go again! The front entry is closed due to covid so we went through Macy’s to enter from inside the mall. I got the taro smoothie and some goodies which included the sweet butter wreath (so sweet and yummy) and the jalapeño with cream cheese pastry (has a really good kick). Oh the sweet butter wreath it a seasonal pastry and only available for a limited time (during the winter) so I suggest you get that before they are gone for the rest of the year.
