Update Valentine's Pistachio class 2025: this was my first time coming to a holiday class and it was SO amazing and well worth the slightly higher cost per ticket. The night started with a plate full of appetizers and glass full of champagne for each person. Appetizers included breaded shrimp, meatballs, some sort of amazing meat-stuffed bread item like a bite sized pot-pie of some kind, and chocolate covered strawberries- ALL were awesome, and along with the samples throughout the class portion of the night, by the time we got our entrees we were so full from all the amazing food that we got to take home several boxes worth of food for the next day. The pistachio-themed menu had weird-sounding items that are actually so delicious and amazing, you've got to try any classes that teach the pistachio apple salad and the pistachio pasta! As always, the chefs were sweet, hilarious, and full of great information. Even though I've been here about a dozen times, I still learn something new and have a unique experience every time I come. And I always take home some Tiramisu and cheesecake from the dessert case because they have the best, freshest desserts in town (thank you Chef Sara!) I love this place so much! Thank you Napoli staff, for everything!
Update 7/9/24: The classes keep getting better every time I come! There are always unique perks with each visit. This time my husband and I were treated to a sample of the most amazing vodka I've ever tasted, produced by the Chef himself! It's called Persian 7000 and it's 110 proof vodka that is unbelievably smooth-tasting. Check out the photos! And ask for it by name to get the word out 🥂
Sara's classes are amazing too! Hassi and Sara are both amazing teachers. I highly recommend the New Orleans class with Chef Sara!
Just had my fourth class here, and it was as amazing as ever! This is the Disneyland ride of cooking classes. Wonderful, talented, funny chef/culinary experts. You'll learn priceless cooking tips and great traditional recipes, sample many foods, get hands-on experience making your own food that you get to eat and bring home. I have nothing bad to say about this place and the people...
Read moreWhat an incredible experience and atmosphere- it's like taking a step back in time. The comraderie between the chefs' and the service staff who have been there for many years, makes it feel like you are at a family dinner. We had a smaller class of 14 so that may have made it even more so...
Chef Hassi walks the group through how to make the 2 main dishes. He calls someone from the class to help with each dish. And during that, you get samples. Chef Hassi is very entertaining and has a good sense of humor. You also learn more about cooking in general, how to use ingredients for other dishes and about the cookware during this time.
You then go to the kitchen which is smaller so you take turns cooking which worked for us! They have everything prepped so it's easy to do. Once you are done, the staff will plate the food based on your group. Each group actively tastes the food (at least for soup and pasta dish) so you add ingredients based on that. (They have a ton of tasting spoons!)
Also, if you have a dietary restriction, you may be able to team up with others who don't mind. For example, a few of us did not want anchovies and just broke up into groups that way.
It is very casual- the atmosphere and the vibe. They have cocktails, NA options and either wine by the bottle or glasses (boxed wine). Water is served on the table and refilled often.
We used a Groupon to go and it was a delight! We will go again for sure and bring friends too. You can get a similar price by...
Read moreThis was a fun experience for my husband's birthday & the food was absolutely delicious. We left satisfied & had a good time! I do want to make sure a few things are clear though for people looking into this:
You'll learn some good tips but don't actually prepare the ingredients yourself. There's a demonstration for each dish & you get fed the ones they make. Then at the end you chose one to make and they give you all the ingredients to put it together. We did the ninja turtles/Italian food class and the dough and all ingredients were pre-prepared for us just to put together one option (either a pizza, calzone or stromboli) which you do get to take home and are pretty good in size.
Use the discount codes!! Whenever I have looked there is always a groupon for a fifth of the price on their website, at the time we went there was also a code on the home page. Make sure to use it! I sure hope no one has paid the full advertised price since it seems they always offer the discounts. They really should just offer that price to begin with.
Bring your own apron. They let you know ahead of the class but FYI they charge $5 to use one of their plain white ones.
In all, a fun experience and well worth the "discounted" price that we paid. We also ended up purchasing drinks (they serve alcoholic & non) and they advertise dessert which is also additional cost (but so delicious). Plus there's a...
