I wish we didnāt have to give any stars; they donāt even deserve 1. So here it goes: my 15-year-old daughter and I have gone to this store a few times, and every time we go into the store, weāre followed by security, so one night we were in there, and we had stopped in the health and beauty medicine area. Well, I had gone in there to get. A yogurt that they carry well, they didnāt have any, so I asked a gentleman when they would be getting some more. He was rude and said he didnāt know; check back another day so we get our items, we check out, we get to the door to leave, and he refuses to let us out and tells us to give back what we took from the aisle. I canāt remember what aisle, but I kind of looked at him strange, and then he said, Give back what you guys just stole, and I told him we didnāt steal anything. I opened my purse to show him. We didnāt take anything. I had bought a travel-size deodorant that I had put in my purse after I paid for it, and he asked me, Is that what I stole? I showed him the receipt and said once again, We haven't stolen anything, so he told us we were over by the health and beauty and medicine aisle for a very long time. Mind you, my purse was in the cart the whole time; my daughter was pushing the cart, and he could've reviewed the cameras to see we didn't steal anything, but he proceeded to accuse us of stealing, so finally I got mad and told him, We didn't steal anything; now open the door and let us out, so he finally did, and we were kind of arguing back-and-forth. A security in the parking lot pulled up and asked what was going on, a very nice lady, and I told her what happened. She told me that because I have a big purse, thatās why he accused me of stealing. She said anybody that comes in there with a big purse or a backpack automatically gets accused of stealing, and I told her thatās discrimination, thatās stereotyping, and I even opened my purse to show her. We didnāt take anything; I even told her she could search if she wanted to; she told me that thatās not necessary. She believed me, so I called their corporate to let them know what happened. I called once, still didn't get a response, called twice, and still didnāt get a response. Call the third time; still didnāt get a response, so I have decided to go forward with a lawsuit, and if thereās anyone else that has experienced this at their store, please get in contact with me. I work at Great Clips in the shopping center and frequently visit Raley's. Thank you to Matt, Terry, Michelle, Angelica, Mary and whoever else I forgot to mention. Because they are all amazing.
This reveiw is so important to me for the upper management to see. Because my Son and I lives have been changed because of their kindness.
My Son is 20 years old and has a disability called 48xxyy Syndrome. We come to Raley's and Peet's Coffee on my days off for our weekly routine "lunch date" Leo looks forward to this every week, to visit "the guys". We grab coffee and lunch and eat in the deli area. It's always a good time. We small talk with them and leave full and happy. This being a huge accomplishment being that Leo isn't always the easiest guy to get along with.
April 1st was Leo's Birthday. I told the guys we would be coming in as usual. Not expecting anything but to hang out a little on Leo's Birthday. Well Matt went above and beyond. We arrived and Michelle told me that Matt had Angelica make Leo a cake. Such an awesome idea. So thoughtful and brought tears to my eyes. When he got back from lunch we all surprised Leo and sang him Happy Birthday. Leo felt so special. What a great feeling for a Mom!!
It makes me still beleive in people and kindness. To think of my Son on his birthday like that is so thoughtful. To make my special Son, Leo feel so happy. He loves you guys. Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne cashier open at Raleyās on Natomas Blvd on Friday July 7 at 6:30. It wasnāt even busy when I shopped and was the 4th person in line. The older female cashier took forever (like she usually does) and then the customer wanted to use some vouchers and the clerk didnāt know what to do. Fast forward 30 minutes later and the checkout line hadnāt moved and we are all talking to each other wondering what to do. The same customer was still trying to be rung up and the clerk didnāt call for backup or a manager. I asked two workers passing by if there was someone else that could open another lane and they said no, thereās no one else. The manager finally came over and after 40 minutes of the line not moving an inch she opened another register. She didnāt take the next customer from the line and people walking by just hopped in the line before us. At this point our lane was 10-12 deep. Everyone had waited a very long time for one single customer to get rung up.
This is horrible customer service for those of us that waited 40 minutes to be checked out. I spoke briefly with the manager on my way out and she looked at me like I was crazy, being completely unaware that the one single lane they had opened had not moved an inch in 40 minutes. She was also unaware that others rushed the newly opened lane before us. I left my full basket behind and wonāt ever be back.
Relying on more self checkout lanes and moving away from less checkers is a terrible idea, just to save corporate money. I have been a Raleyās customer my entire adult life and spend $1500 a month at Raleyās each month to feed my family.
