Chop Shop — Local services in Safety Harbor

I was going to a sort of fancy, high-end (eg: pricey) salon to have my hair lightened, toned, and styled about every six weeks. Then, when I was planning my wedding in Safety Harbor and needed hair and makeup, my stylist wasn’t available. I booked myself and my wedding party at The Chop Shop after a consultation. They did a fantastic job! After the wedding I continued with my original stylist at the “high-end” salon until the day I came home with my hair fried. I decided immediately to go back to The Chop Shop for repairs and have been working with Cara ever since. I love this place! Everyone is super friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing with excellent music playing. Cara always makes sure that I’m 100% happy with my hair and is really sensitive regarding whatever my hair goals are. I appreciate her skill, professionalism, and passion for her work. And the prices? Amazing!...

I went because a friend had a great experience there (hair quality, pampering with refreshments etc), so I expected the same. The ambiance is unique for the area, the music was great and I do like my hair. But I was never offered anything to drink, nor asked if i'd like a magazine (they weren't easily accessible) and though she did a good job on my hair, the stylist never stopped talking... she also failed to clean me up (you know, the annoying hairs on the face) until I asked her to. I don't consider myself high-maintenance, but when you pay good money at a salon, there are certain things you take for granted and I did not...

I am totally shocked by some of the comments that I have read. There is not a rude person that works in this salon. Maybe they did not give you the exact cut you wanted and you were unhappy but the staff is exceptional and very pleasant...they are far from rude. I have brought my baby brother there and my nephew for their haircuts and they are GREAT with kids! My boyfriend has been going there for years and Mike, the owner, has always done a great job! I have also had my hair done here several times and always recommend...
