A beautiful little library with excellent classes, informative seminars & fabulous musical guests. Expanded children's programming would be wonderful to see on the weekends. There is a missed opportunity to offer more events for the kids of those of us who lack the luxury of working at home/who are not stay-at-home parents. Legos are offered for kids on Saturdays though every Sat. is essentially the same in the Children's wing. When I asked a kinky-haired young brunette about potentially having something other than Legos every Sat. (please do mix it up a bit) she rudely snarled "Go ask Anastasia!!" Anastasia is aboslutely the best; however, is rarely there on weekends. Dunedin & Clearwater libraries mix it up & SHPL should follow suit. Please also hold the fabulous "Ms. Anastasia's Yoga Story Time" either on weekends or early evenings (i.e., not during generally recognized normal business hours of 8a-5p, M-F) so working parents may participate with their kids sans the need for missing work. There are myriad working parents these days, JFYI, so why should our kids miss out on the fabulous activities which are currently only scheduled during normal bus. hours? Anastasia is truly an asset to this library, as are most of the staff members save the ginger-haired Ari who gives serious attitude. Her position is that of dealing with the public & if she cannot bring herself to enjoy dealing with the public perhaps she should consider relinquishing the post so someone who would value it. Jen, on the other hand, is also wonderful. A former yoga studio owner herself, she now leads SHPL's beginner's yoga class every Sat. @ 11:00 a.m. so hats off to Jen & Anastasia. Of note: use caution when returning items to the poorly-designed "drive up" bins. I'd recommend bringing returns directly to the desk and getting a proof-of-return receipt. They did a "shelf check" twice just to discover we did in fact return the materials, on time, for which they had been charging...
Read moreI want to say a huge thank you to our teachers, Miss Mariann and Miss Shelly for teaching us and being so patient with us. Thank you for volunteering to do a great job by teaching us English speaking, writing, and reading through the conversation class. Thank you so much for adding a citizenship class to help my friends to become a citizen and change their life for the better and thank you to all library staff for their help and support.
I am also grateful to the safety harbor library because it helped me change my life, as I visited the library in 2012 looking for tutor when I started my academic life to help achieve my dream. I needed someone to help me improve my English, and it helped me graduate in 2014 as a certified wedding planner and in 2016 a certified event planner.
The library has presented me with so many helpful resources. I have borrowed books from the library for both myself and my children, it helped me in starting my first business after reading the books at the library, and my children have volunteered here which helped them in their careers. The library and library staff have helped our family so much in their...
Read moreWonderful children’s area. That’s about it. I made the mistake of parking somewhere I couldn’t because I saw other parents park there. When my husband came to meet us and we were leaving, employees were taking pictures of our tags. My car was in front of the signs in the grass. The last picture is cars they did not take pictures of that were parked how I was. I informed them I only parked there because there were others parking there and I didn’t see any “No Parking” signs. Rude employees at the front except a young blonde woman. Require pre registration for events or have someone out there to direct parking instead of trying to get a family towed for a simple mistake. This facility’s parking lot is not equipped to handle large events. Totally appalling the interracial family was targeted and none of the other families that were parked in front of me/where I was. Some of the older women who work there need to be sent to conflict resolution classes. Was rudely told “Why don’t you volunteer then?” when I advised they have someone out there when expecting large crowds. This was in front of my...
