Grease Monkey — Local services in Saint George

My parents and I drove down from SLC late Thursday night. My parents drove from Idaho and I started driving my mom’s vehicle in Nephi, UT. The wind was blowing really hard and I could hear something was vibrating and banging on the vehicle. We stopped further down the road and I noticed something was dragging underneath the vehicle. Unable to get to a Grease Monkey due to timing and location we continued our drive down to St George. This morning (June. 28) our first stop was at the Grease Monkey in St George. A friendly worker greeted us and I informed him that my mom had her oil changed in Pocatello, ID before they drove down to SLC to pick me up. I didn’t noticed the sound until I started driving her vehicle and that it looks like the cover for the oil pan was dragging. The associate was very helpful and polite, and told us they could definitely look at the situation and see what they could do to correct the problem. Unfortunately, due to the Pocatello associates mishap of not double checking his work, my mom’s oil pan cover is bent, due to all of the flapping while driving down to St George. The associate in St George was able to screw it back on. Come to find out my mom also informed me that when they also got in her vehicle after the oil change in Pocatello, the inside cabin air filter wasn’t properly installed and they had to adjust things in the glove compartment to more properly fit the cabin air filter in its proper compartment. My review is to hopefully improve training for associates that they take the extra time to make sure everything is completed before they return a customers vehicle. We are hopefully that the cover isn’t heavily damaged and that it will be able to stay attached while my parents continue to drive their vehicle. We really do appreciate the wonderful service and help we received at the Grease Monkey location in St George. Top notch...

This place has been quite a headache, I don't think I'll be going there again.

Less than 5 minutes after I leave I hear a grinding sound underneath my car. I pull over and my skid plate is just hanging off, dragging on the ground. Apparently they did a half ass job putting it back on. I called to talk to the manager, but surprise surprise, he wasn't there. I talked to the guy who did it and got some excuses about how he thought it was secure but it couldn't be properly attached due to the holes not being the right size. (At the time I even provided them with my own tie-downs just so they would have the right tools to secure it.) Instead of driving back to have them re-do it, I crawled under my car and put it back on myself in less than 10 minutes with no tools and no jack.

Unbelievable. When you have technicians working on your car they should tell you if there is an issue, not try to sweep it under the rug and hope you don't notice. If you go here, be sure to double check everything yourself, because if there is a problem they sure won't tell you.

Also, when I got my safety inspection they failed me over something very minor. That same car passed safety inspection 4 years in a row at Jiffy Lube.

Lastly, after they were done there was a mystery part in my drivers footwell. No idea what it was, so I asked them if it was theirs. They said it definitely wasn't theirs but they also didn't know how it got there. I suspect it fell off of my car somewhere and they didn't want to tell me, so they just put it in the cabin and feigned ignorance, just like with...

We were driving through town on our way home from Disneyland when our check engine light came on and our car began to lag its way off the exit. We had just had to replace the fuel pump in Vegas and had only driven 130 miles when the exact same issues began again. James at Grease Monkey was wonderful!! We had went to 3 other mechanic shops in town…note it was 4:00pm on a Thursday. We were told the soonest we could get in to even have someone look at it would be Tuesday with the majority being 2 weeks. In tears we were referred to Grease Monkey. Even though we arrived 20 minutes prior to close the entire crew was so kind, helpful and took the time to diagnose the car and provided a solution that got us home the next morning after taking the time to go to the dealership to get the part and that was the only reason we weren’t back on the road the same day, the dealership with the part was closed…after calling everyone else that may possibly have the part. The next morning the part was obtained and James got it done flawlessly!! He even took it for a drive to ensure and followed up with a text message an hour after we hit the road to see how the car was driving!! Faith restored in people willing to help people in a time of crisis despite the impact on themselves (long hours). Thank you James so much!! Grease Monkey is awesome!
