Iâm an Instacart shopper and have shopped for the company/for my own personal groceries at this store for several years without issue. Today a younger female cashier was on her phone at the front, with no line at checkout. Thatâs totally cool, if itâs not busy go for it. I start unpacking the biggest Instacart order Iâve ever received (140 items), featuring plenty of canned goods, raw meat, frozen foods, and 6 gallons of milk. The cashier starts chucking items into the cart, giving no care to how sheâs organizing it. I finish counting out the bags I need, and go to swipe my card, but not before she says, âUhh, one of the milks are leakingâŚâ she thinks she sees it and grabs one of the milks, shoving a ton of the cans on to the ground, and then goes, âOh haha it wasnât this one.. did you swipe your cardâŚ?â I was stunned, because that milk that was leaking was a product of possibly the worst handling of groceries I had ever seen from an Aldi cashier. I had not swiped my card yet, as she just pushed some of my groceries onto the ground. I quickly go to swipe, and as I do she then shoved my cart on top of the cans to move me out of the line. I am left with a cart moved over canned goods and boxes, milk soaked groceries, and no offer of help to grab a new gallon or even paper towels to dry off the groceries. I ended up having to wipe the groceries off on my jeans and deal with the aftermath on my own, even though the whole issue was a product of poor cart packaging from the cashier. I typically donât leave reviews, but this was seriously one of the worst interactions Iâve ever had with an employee in my life. To cause damage to a product a customer is buying, push cans to the ground, and not help clean up that mess?...
Read moreUpdate: Continue to be periodically overcharged for items.
Most recent, Saturday March 16th, 2019. Bought a bag of apples clearly listed at $1.99 a bag. After checkout, but prior to leaving the store, noticed I was charged $3.99. I walked back and took another look at the sign and asked a nearby staff about the pricing. He verified I was charged incorrectly. Went back to the front of the store and showed the receipt to the checker. She had to stop checking people out, radio for assistance and a manager had to come to the front enter the register code to allow for a refund. Never received a "sorry about that". Checker just acted a bit annoyed during the entire process m and refunded my money.
Given how frequently this occurs, I must wonder if they make these pricing errors intentionally to increase profit margin and just hope most customers won't notice?
First Review - Fall 2018 Have been overcharged twice in a two week period. Last overcharge (for produce) was over $6 because they "entered the wrong code" . Didn't notice till I got home. Drove back to get it corrected. In addition to the drive, the refund process was a pain. No service desk. Not clear what you should do. Wait in line? Approach cashier while not in line? Both cashier and manager need to get involved while others are held up. And, they have to give you cash back no matter how you pay. Watch...
Read moreI have been a regular Aldi customer for years, but this was my third time shopping at this Aldi in St. Peterâs since moving to the area. My first dilemma was finding honey mustard and snack size strawberry applesauce which became a scavenger hunt. When I finally found the applesauce, it took three attempts to pickup a six pack of the strawberry applesauce without the package breaking apart in my hand! A shopper behind me saw this and was just as shocked as I was. When I stood up because the applesauce was on the bottom shelf, I noticed suddenly the isle was packed with shoppers not social distancing! Then my experience with the cashier Michelle, wasnât pleasant or courteous to me as she was the previous customer and the customer after me. Both of these customers were pleasantly greeted. I was greeted with a frown and half closed eyes. I asked her whatâs wrong? Her response was she had a âheadacheâ caused by drinking too much coffee. She didnât even thank me when giving my receipt. But she gave the next customer a pleasant greeting with the usual Aldi greeting. I will not shop Aldi again. I will continue going to Walmart Neighborhood Market down the street. Respectfully, a diversity...
