Old Fashioned Burgers & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Salado

Sadly today I walked into this place at 4:31 they close at 5:00 shouldn't take that long to make a burger I'm thinking 5 to 10 minutes now and I can eat in 10 minutes that means only been out of the place by 4:55. I'd like to think i am a smart and normal guy, hell I got a degree, but this young lady in the photograph basically said the grill was closed, like what does that mean to me? If you were to ask me, it looked like she was ready to get the heck out of there. Again sadly I don't like to give band reviews but the owner needs to know what's going on and if she's the owner then stream on her this would have been my first time going there and I was really looking forward to some old fashioned Burgers to be honest with you. I uploaded proof at the time I got there in the time I left, and the photograph of the lady that basically told me it was shut down. My advice to this woman would be to change your hours to 4:30. Therefore, when they do close at 4:30, then no one will show up. Again, I don't like to give bad reviews, but I don't think I'm asking too much.

Update: 10-2-2024 4:11pm. Came back like a fool, and the same lady said the grill was closed per her owner!! I was such in disbelief that I told her I would never come here again. They close at 5 pm. Came to subway next door. Also you have to come to the subway next door to get drinks because their drink machine doesn't work. Horrible management period.

Update same day: What I think is going on is the lady working the grill is double dipping on the owners expense. She showed up to subway where I had to go next door. She is working at subway now at 4:31 pm. Crazy stuff. ...

The lady in there is the most rude and bitter individual I have ever met... went in there one day a long time ago and waited for her to finish what she was doing meanwhile it took her about 5 mins she didnt say hi to me or anything not one single word. No other customers or anything she was putting ketchup into bottles... then she turns to me and says we're closed.... its 4:41 and im like ok whatever people have bad days I get it I wait months before going back... until today I go back because I still have yet.to try this place..same lady is there once again she's filling mayonnaise bottles this time... no word when I walk in. No nothing. 5-10 mins later no other customers are in there nor came in... just silence.... then she slams the bottles down smacks her lips and says ugh and starts walking over to the counter rudely says what do you want... like im such an inconvenience to her... so I walked out needless to say I never got to try this place and will never get to because as long as that lady is in there I want nothing to do with this place. Stay far far away unless you want your day ruined...

I was extremely excited to try this place out with my family but was quickly disappointed. We waited a good 20 minutes for burgers and fries. We ordered 2 junior burgers and 2 old fashioned burgers both with fries. The crinkly fries were overcooked. The junior burgers are the size of a breakfast sausage on a regular bun, they do not come with cheese. The old fashioned burgers are made with what seems to be frozen square patties, and are cooked all the way through, so super done. You get your choice of cheese and the buns are toasted. We ended up giving our kids the old fashioned burgers. I combined the “sausage” patties to make a half burger for my husband and I threw my toasted buns away. The condiments were nonexistent, ketchup jars were empty, we had to ask for pickles, and the area was unkept. I only gave it a 1 star because we did have shakes and they were ok. Do not recommend for food, not worth the money. It has potential but it needs adult...
