I would not recommend Salem NH location or Megan C for grooming. The whole interaction and service was by far the biggest Thumbs Down!!
I was only going to leave it at this but I really am just so disgusted of the unnecessary treatment.
Iāve been going to Petco for my dog's grooming for years now, and we really, really loved Christina while she was there. So we ended up continuing to stay with Petco since itās nearby and convenient. Thatās when my dogs started to see Megan C at Petco Salem, NH. One of them, mostly because the newest is a pup, At first, let me tell you how great we thought she was. Nice, friendly, and approachable. She greeted the dogs very nicely, made eye contact, had conversation, and made my one who gets the works done plus a hair cut look so clean, shiny, and smelling great. She would come out with handkerchiefs or flowers on her collar. Well, that all changed at the very last appointment we had. I walked in with no Hi, how are you, there was no greeting my dog like usual. No eye contact. It was a quick; sheāll be done in 2-3 hours, and couldnāt get my dog out back fast enough. It was very weird, like a different person. I was instantly not a fan and pretty much just wanted to take my dog back. I came back three hours later; my paper was on the counter to go pay. When I come back, it was beyond awkward. Thereās no scarf or flower. No, thank you, and have a wonderful day. She couldnāt wait to get my poor dog and myself out of there. She quickly turned her back and walked away. I get in the car, and my husband and one of my sons say, What is that smell? My dog came out of there looking like she was not bathed because she stunk, was poorly shaved, not like usual, not brushed out, and you could see hair all over her. She didn't look like she recieved her usual service. It was by far the most disappointing service. Iāve always been a very good customer and tipper, and then to have this happen is unacceptable.. We went right home and gave our dog, who was just groomed, a bath. The water was dirty; there was matted hair all in the water, and it was just plain gross. My poor dog. I spend $110.00 plus another 20+ everytime for this service to give it to someone that I thought was a professional dog groomer and clearly who thinks it's ok to wear there emotions or whatever it was on her sleeve while working in customer service. If you canāt go into work as a mature professional, then I don't know what to tell you.. Iām just so confused by the weird treatment from her. Just so rude. The only thing I can think of that is still confusing as to why we received this unnecessary treatment is that a few weeks ago, I had no idea because I'd never run into the problem of my dog having to wait to get groomed 48 hours after her rabies shot. That's fine. It is the first time I ever heard of it, she had had it the morning before the appointment that day. I was never aware that a dog couldnāt get groomed after that. Only because itās just never happened in that order before for me. So then the manager was saying, Oh no, we canāt do it; we canāt do her today. Yes, I was bummed. Was I rude to anyone? NO! Had I even had an ounce of communication with Megan C that day? No! She was grooming another dog at the time. The manager tried rebooking me, but I couldn't stay to figure out a day. I had to go to other appointments, so I just said, You know what? Forget it; Iāll just call and I left. I had to be right out the door. I have a very tight schedule. It takes a lot for me to be rude and to feel strong enough to write a complaint that I never thought Iād have to write. So, going forward, Megan C and Petco will lose my business that I have given for years, and there will be no recommendations for your location or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to make this review as carefully as I can. This store seems as if it is hanging on by a thread. Not the building per say, its actually a nice looking place. But, the attitude of the people and animals inside screams of inadequacy and misery. Every employee whom I encountered had a dead stare and a frown glued to their face. No one seemed like they could or even wanted to help me with my questions. All the bunnies, hamsters, and ferrets are lazily staying in their habitats with days old food in their cups. They look as sad and pathetic as the people running it. Which brings me to my next and main point, the lizards were in abismal shape. They were all super lethargic, lazy, and took the look of misery to a whole new level. The food was abosutely rotten and starting to dry up in the heat. Ironically enough, the heat wasnt even enough. Assuming the thermostats are correct in the enclosure that I found then I would be led to believe that the lizards are in genuine danger. The hottest part of the tank was a mere 74 degrees. You can tell when lizards are being neglected. They are lazy, uninterested, and starving. The lizards i saw showed all those symptoms of neglect. Once I finally started to head to the cashier to end this horrible shopping trip i was met with even more misery. Not sure if this woman was in charge to any degree but other than the dog groomers she was the only staff member on the floor. After waiting an abismal SEVEN MINUTES as the only person in line, who she stared at for a minimum of five minutes, she finally approaches the counter without apologizing for the wait and with zero enthusiasm. She was miserable to be there and it was obvious. So the point is, everyone there is miserable and so are the animals, the people and their "care" are rubbing off on the little critters. Now i have a solution in mind. Dont close the store. Its a great one. But get rid of most of the staff/ retrain EVERYONE. In an ideal world the corporate big guys will fire everyone and hire a new staff with some vigor, some work ethic, and above all else a love for all these animals. I would HAPPILY step in as a store manager/ assitant manager. I've never felt so passionate about a store being this miserable until i could notice the adverse affects on the animals. You don't have to consider me but at least consider a change. My name is James, if the corporate feels a need to call me i heavily support...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to buy a pet fish for myself because I was near by to this store but then I saw a hamster and fell in love with it I was ready to buy it when I asked this one employee who was super rude she responded that I have to buy a cage worth $150 and a glass tank on top of it worth $120 to take that hamster because she told the hamster needs a large space and the hamster cannot live in small area. The fact that the hamster I saw was in a small enclosure like it has space to barely walk and this lady wants me to buy the biggest cage so I asked her the measurements of the cage and bought similar one from Facebook market place and my friends went back to store today to buy the hamster but then she was telling all rubbish stories that the cage I bought wonāt work but then I bought a larger cage that 2 hamsters can run around easily inside it. Then she was like on buy the $150 cage then I will sell the hamster. The fact that she just wanted to make business by selling the cage because the hamster was for $22. The animals are put into very small enclosures they look very weak and donāt even get me near those fishes, a fish tank was filled with fishers like hundreds of them few dead floating in the same water and other barely have space to swim in that over populated tank. I feel so bad for the animals. The lady there has silly stories for everything and I was just shocked that how can she just lie and manipulate people on their faces. If you thinking to buy yourself a pet please donāt visit this store. You end up paying more or just see the animals suffering there. Itās not worth your time and money. Hopefully this store shuts down for good. Iām posting the pictures of the hamster cage form the store where I hamster is living and the the cage I...
