I called 99 Restaurant 3 days before my Moms birthday to set up a reservation for 8 people and they told me that I needed to call 30 Minutes ahead on the same day. I called 30 Minutes before I got there and told them we have a party of 8. When we got there, i walked up to the hostess and we told her we called. She stated that its going to be a 20 Minute wait. I told her that we called already, she replied very rudely and stated that "its still going to be a 20 Minute Wait!" We stepped outside and waited. 30 Minutes later we get a text stating that our table was ready. We all walked inside and when we went up to the same hostess, she stated that our table was not ready and the text might have been an accident. At this point we all became very frustrated because it seemed as though she was playing games. She did not even apologize. which is fine because it shows her character. All 8 of us stepped out again after she told us it is going to be another 10 minute wait. We ended up waiting ANOTHER 25 Minutes and finally I went in and asked for a Manager. The manager came over and I explained the frustration. He said he will go look around and told us it will be another 5 minute wait. At this point we were there for way over an hour waiting. I could have left, but it was my moms birthday and i wanted it to be fun for her not stressful driving around all over the place. While i was with the Manager, i asked him for the Name of the hostess because i wanted to write to Corporate to inform them of the type of Service this hostess was giving to 99 Customers. But the Manager said " I have only been here for 3 days and I do not know her name" which i know is not true because what type of Manager are you if you do not know your employees names. We finally sat down and i just want to point out that I do not expect much but after having a very frustrated entrance process, i expected the manager to at least stop by our table in the end and ask if everything was going ok with the food at least, but i was dissapointed when he did NOT do that. My entire 30 Member family were very loyal customers in 99 Restaurant Locations all over NH but you just lost all of our service because of...

My cousin and I were regulars at the 99 in Haverhill for years and the staff over that 15 year time, became more like family then just "99 workers". A few years ago, I moved to Manchester, so we decided to start meeting at the Salem 99. Great experience so far. Meredith, Sarah and Rochelle (who's no longer working there) became our new 99 regular bartenders. Well, we went there Wednesday before Thanksgiving and got to meet Karen, yes, that's her name. We had two bowls of popcorn and each got a boneless wing app and each 4 small beers, in a 3 hour period. We were quiet, kept to ourselves, just catching up like we ALWAYS do. Upon asking for another beer, so rudely, and not so quietly in front of all other customers, Karen told me "you've had enough to drink!" This was really shocking, but I politely asked for our check, we paid and left. We're both part time bartenders and know limits and proper bar etiquette. We were both so embarrassed. Never in all the years or 99 establishments, has anything like this ever happened. I watched Karen berate a customer that same night for having a license expire the following day. She said to him "I'll serve you tonight, but tomorrow I won't!" Why say anything? Serve him and move on. His license was fine that night. He was also embarrassed. I watched her serve two regulars next to us, 2 tall drafts and 1 small draft EACH in less time we were there. I guess it basically comes down to, we weren't regulars, Karen is not a enjoyable person to be served by, when you're choosing which establishment to use, especially with Tuscan Village right next door. We're definitely going to be choosing a new place to meet up, which is too bad because we enjoyed Sarah on...
Read moreA week ago or so I ate at the 99 restaurant in Salem New Hampshire off Route 28 with my aunt and my mother . They ordered the steak tip dinners and I ordered the T-bone. Both steak tip dinners we're pretty unpleasant according to my mother and Aunt they said they had nothing but nerves to chew on in the sirloin tips! ( are they using cheap sirloin meat now?) When I tried my T-bone steak that was supposed to be 16 oz, it turned out to be more or less like 6 ounces of meat 4 ounces of fat, and 6oz of bone!. I gave back my dinner plate and asked if they could just give me some pieces of sirloin tips instead. ( I thought maybe it was a coincidence that my mother and Aunt had tones of nerves in their sirloin tips. To my disbelief when I received five pieces of the sirloin tips, not only did they have massive amounts of nerves like rubber bands to chew on in the tips, but the cook gave them to me super rare in a rush to get the meat to me quickly because my food was already cold, the rare color in meat was like that ugly purple red rare! They did give us a discount but what these people need to understand is we never cared about getting a discount we went there for quality food and what a huge disappointment! I have eaten at other 99 Restaurants and have experienced similar problems with their steak tips having a lot of nerves but nothing like what I experienced at this 99 Restaurant in Salem New Hampshire. I myself worked in the food restaurant business a very long time ago in the kitchen and quite honestly whomever is cooking in the kitchen ( whomever is in charge of the meat) ordering the sirloin tips , should really pay more attention to their suppliers meat! This was not a coincidence either. Just poor quality of meat. Just want to point out that the server was excellent to us. Kitchen score "zero" and...
