My recent experience at Panera Bread in Salem, NH was quite disappointing. While the staff was friendly, the service and quality of food were subpar.
The first issue I encountered was that my order was wrong. This has happened on several occasions, and it is frustrating because I have to wait even longer for them to correct the order. This leads me to my second issue, which is the slow service. The wait time is excessive, especially considering the high prices.
Speaking of prices, the food is way overpriced for the quality. The portions are small, and the ingredients are not fresh. The salads are wilted, and the sandwiches are soggy. It's disappointing to pay a premium price for such low-quality food.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was dirty. Tables were not cleared, and there was trash on the floor. The overall atmosphere was uninviting and unsanitary.
I understand that fast-casual restaurants are not meant to be high-end, but Panera Bread's prices do not reflect the quality of the food or service. If they want to charge these prices, they need to step up their game and provide better quality and service.
The one saving grace of my experience was the friendly staff. They were apologetic for the mistakes and did their best to make things right. However, even their kindness could not make up for the poor quality and slow service.
In conclusion, I would not recommend the Panera Bread in Salem, NH. The consistently incorrect orders, slow service, high prices, and poor quality of food make it not worth the visit. The staff may be friendly, but that is not enough to make up for the overall...
Read moreI had a pretty simple order. Frontega chicken panini, no tomatoes extra sauce on the side. First sandwich came out with tomatoes and no sauce on the side. The order was "checked" by the manager who did not confirm either of the modifications before signing off on it. I took it back to the consolidator, and asked for a new sandwich with no tomatoes extra sauce on the side. She remade the sandwich, and I had to ask a third time for extar sauce on the side. When I got home and started to eat the sandwich it had cilantro on it instead of basil. I called the store and had to go through their automated menu 3 times before someone actually picked up the phone. When I talked to the manager she gave me the Panera quality speil and offered me a new sandwich which I had to then drive back there to pick up. When I talked to the person who remade my sandwich she seemed flabbergasted because she thought cilantro was on the sandwich. This place is fairly new, but there is no excuse for this. I realize that you are training new staff, but you need to be double checking everything they are doing before letting it go out to customers. I did not see any step by steps out for trainees to follow nor an associate trainer watching over the trainees, despite there being 5 or 6 extra workers sitting around. This is the second time I have been to this Panera and it was not much better than the first time where I got frozen steak on my sandwich and soup that was cold. Go...
Read moreVery conscientious staff, kind and hard working! Other than having issues with online-delivery-to-home services (which were numerous and unfortunately unpredictable) I have no complaints about the drive-through or curbside services. Whether I am calling in for an order or passing through the drive-through I am always impressed by their speedy service all-the-while yielding a well-made meal (most notably the sandwiches)! (Regarding speediness, furthermore adding that this may just be my sole opinion, but I feel I wouldn't mind always waiting an average minimum amount of time as opposed to being served at 'lightspeed.' Again, in my own opinion, I find there is something encouraging, maybe even appetizing, behind the 'wait-time' as a consumer, perhaps imagining care-to-detail and best hygienic measures must be taking place while each meal is being prepared). Some of their bakery items are also great, but most products do turn out "as expected" in the sense that almost each Panera chain-product seems to taste and/or look the same wherever you go. Hence why, the customer service staff, in-house cooks and meal-preppers are the ones who bring the charisma and quality to such chain restaurants. Keep it up Panera crew and thanks...
