Brickseek inventory as well as Target website showed me that a particular item I was looking for was "in stock". It was sold out everywhere else so this looked like my best bet. I initially called and they transferred me to the electronics section where some young man ended up helping me. I gave him the DPCI and he was able to locate the item as it had a specific location in the back and said there's 4 of them; it wasn't on the floor yet. I asked him if he could reserve one for me by bringing it to guest services and I will be on my way down to pick it up. There are about 8 other Targets in my location (Lowell, Woburn, Stoneham, Haverhill, Methuen, Wilmington, Nashua x2) within a 30 minute radius of where I live and it's never been an issue for me to have someone retrieve and item that was in stock and in the back when it was available. This guy hesitated and said he doesn't know if he can bring it to guest services for me and kept asking when I'd be there -- whether it be 10 mins, an hour, etc. I told him I'd go immediately (which is like a 15 minute drive) if he can hold it for me. It sounded like he was willing to help. He took down my name and number and said that he'll call me back once he finds it and brings it to guest services for me. A few hours goes by and I didn't get a phone call so I called back. This time, I spoke with a team lead in the electronics section and she informed me that they're not supposed to retrieve things in the back for customers --- that they are only supposed to sell things that are on the floor. This is total BS since I've been shopping at Target for years and years and I've had no problems with all the other 8 Targets retrieving things for me in the back if they are in stock and are able to locate them. After informing her this, she went on to say that the item I'm looking for has a release date of Aug 18th and so she cannot sell it to me since it's only Aug 2. Unreal. I assured her that date is incorrect as the release date was supposed to be July 28th and that 4 other Targets in the area have already sold out of this item. I asked her why there's a discrepancy and why this Target has a different release date. She couldn't answer. It's just frustrating when you're looking for an item, the store has it, are supposed to be able to sell it but somehow is standing by their mis-information. Target online has also sold out of this item on day 1, which is July 28th. I know, because I had the items in my cart only July 28th and within a short time later, it was sold out. Anyway, this team lead kept standing by her made-up date of Aug 18th and thus, a customer at their store... that is willing to buy an item that should've been made available, is left walking away disappointed. This Salem Target is out of whack and completely inconsistent with other Targets. No idea why they are relentlessly stubborn about their release date when it's wrong (with legit proof of other Targets in the area and their website selling out a few days earlier). Some consistency would be nice. Not a way to treat someone who is trying to provide...
Read moreAs a stay at home mom who is a frequent flyer at target I just wanted to write in a comment about my experience while in the store today. My partner, my baby and I go to register whilst the employees are talking to eachother and blocking the open isle. One woman moves over and seems super nice but still they just continue this loud conversation between registers with my family in between. All while we are trying to ask a question and barely getting a word in. The formula we were trying to purchase only had two left in store with totally damaged and opened boxes. Although the inside was intact we felt as though Target should stand by the presentation of their products and offer 10% off like any other big box store that has open boxes on their shelves. The cashier was rude, belittling and passive aggressive to us when we remarked the condition of the product. As someone who spends $1000+ a month at least at target (formula, diapers, groceries etc) it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that this employee had such a problem with literally taking $1 off of the product as if it were coming out of her paycheck. I am overall dissatisfied with my visit and it will be along while before I return. Guess my Christmas shopping will be done else where over $1, thank you Leslie for providing terrible...
Read moreMy experience at Target in Salem, NH was great. The store was conveniently located and easy to find. The layout of the store was clean and organized, which made it easy to navigate and find what I was looking for.
The staff at Target were friendly and helpful. They were always willing to assist with any questions or concerns that I had. Their positive attitude and customer service made my shopping experience much more enjoyable.
One of the best things about Target is their competitive prices and frequent sales. I was able to find some great deals on items that I needed, which was a huge plus.
The only area where I had a small issue was with the checkout process. There were some long wait times during peak hours, and the self-checkout machines were sometimes problematic. However, the staff was always available to assist and make the process as smooth as possible.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Target store in Salem, NH. It's a popular and reliable choice for a wide range of products, and the staff make it a pleasure to shop there. I will definitely be returning for my future...
