One of the best thrifting experiences of our PCH road trip. My intended entered the shop alone, while I took a phone call outside. He’s a big dude, and in these situations when his large body is juxtaposed with packed shelves of unreasonably breakable goods he often gets a few looks. Class & Trash was no exception. Upon entering, my exquisite lover felt himself attracted to an aisle that was blocked by a shopping cart. Unaccustomed to asking for help, he decided to perform a small feat of magic and squeeze his gargantuan frame into the minuscule gap between the cart and the shelf beside it, sending the entire contents of magazines and books cascading to the floor. An elderwoman appeared at his side and in a begrudging tone explained that she had put the cart in front of the aisle to prevent just such a calamity. Lover apologized and calmly began to restore the items to their shelves, deciding against the instinct to spaz out and make things worse, as one tends to do in awkward situations.

Female owner kept talking to a friend of hers in the store out loud several times people who come to this country need to learn the language and doesn’t understand why they don’t and just stick to their own kind while my Spanish only senior mom was paying for an item. I didn’t appreciate that and every time I walked into this store I was stared at as if I was going to still their trash.
