Chabelas are probably the best in town. The reason I say "probably" is because I cant decide between this place and the chabelas next to Maya theaters, Villa Azteca. It's hard getting the waitresses attention. Food is kind of bland. I tried the fish and shrimp tacos... for the most part they look appetizing but they were super bland. Missing salt, pepper etc. How do you mess up fish or shrimp tacos?!? I also tried their carne asada fries and the same thing.... missing salt. Missing anything remotely of flavor. Like I said, very appealing, but NO FLAVOR. Their complimentary chips was okay but their salsa they brought out with it was frozen. Havent tried their other mariscos as I just found out about this place. As it stands from what I've had, 3/5. I would put 2/5 but their chabelas and their cantaritos are 5/5. They are excellent! They have mastered their drink menu. Lol.
UPDATE
-they fixed the Bland issue. Chabelas are still amazing. Try their cantaritos!!
Update: 2021. June.
Asada Fríes, best in town. Hands down. They’ve must’ve fired the chef bc these fries were amazing. Nothing like before. Chebelas are still great and so are the cantaritos. You have to try the tacos gobernador 🤤🤤 soooo goood… words cannot describe. Haha. The service has improved. I can’t bash on them too badly bc they are constantly swamped. Not too many people know about this place except for the real east...
Read more5/5, it was my first time & everything was amazing. The staff was super friendly, we got seated right away & the server provided us with warm chips & salsa. The salsa for the chips was really good, freshly made not store bought like other restaurants. I liked how the chips were also freshly made and weren’t stale like other places usually have them. I ordered an agua horchata & it was BOMB! I’m super picky with my aguas frescas & this one was super BOMB! It reminded me of the one my mom would make growing up. Lastly, I ordered the combination plate of shrimp & steak, the steak was well seasoned. Definitely will come back during the summer to try their mariscos...
Read moreFew things in life are as satisfying as tacos crafted with care, and the combination of tripa or lengua on handmade tortillas is a culinary experience worth savoring.

The lengua (beef tongue) is melt-in-your-mouth tender, subtly seasoned to highlight its natural buttery flavor. Together, they create a perfect balance of textures and taste. Highly...
