Smart & Final — Local services in Salinas

I went to this store with the plan to take a scale I bought one or two weeks ago, to live at first hand the experience of returning something without a receipt. Well, the manager came out, he first offered to exchange the item for another one i went to the isIe and saw one, but said there was no more scales, then he asks the cashier when I had said I bought the item, she said yesterday, he pulls out yesterday's sales, and obviously it wasn't gonna be there, to my surprise he insinuated I had gotten the item somewhere else, but that it wasn't at this store, he then puts the item in my hands n says "... you didn't buy this item here, I don't know where you got it" there was people behind me which was humiliating I don't think that he had the right to said that to me in front of all those customer what if someone i know was behind me. I belive managers should be really careful with what they say, he could of just said, I can't find the item on this week's sales, I can't help you unless you have a receipt sorry,...

Over a year ago when my family and I moved near our local Smart & Final. I was always under the impression that they only sold items in bulk. My family and I were extremely happy to see they also offer many “regular” sized items for sale as well; thus making it our “regular” grocery store that we visit almost daily! The friendly customer service from the cashiers makes each visit a pleasant one, and gives the store that “mom and pop” feel to it that keeps us returning. Maria (supervisor), and Kimberly, make us feel welcomed and always greet us with a smile. The evening security gaurd is even the friendliest, most professional guard I’ve seen at any establishment. We feel safe enough to visit the store near closing hours. My husband and I couldn’t be happier with this store and I wanted to give recognition to it, and those it make each experience one that keeps...
