This was our first "room" escape. We have done escape rooms where you gradually discover clues to progress to another room, and doors unlock automatically to another area until you solve all clues and exit completely. Compared to that, this was a much much simpler concept. The first challenge was to find the business, though. They are located in the basement of a downtown building, and it's not the best-looking and smelling place. The entrance is from a back alley that I wouldn't feel safe to get in after dark. It felt musty and damp inside. Anyway, we decided to start with the most difficult one, The Casino, and actually solved it in 4 minutes. The escape consists of discovering a set of 4 numbers to unlock a padlock. Once you find the combination, that's it. We felt like it was just an endless trying of all numbers you could come up with in the room, so there weren't really any "challenges" or clues to follow. Because we did well on that, we got a 2nd room to solve for free. We chose The Jail, and that was more challenging. Even though the concept is still the same, you have to unlock several padlocks, it actually had clues that led to searching and figuring out stuff, which we liked much better. In The Jail, you have to pay attention to details and go back and forth between the areas, and combine all information to make sense out of it. I personally think that it needs better starting directions and better guidance (with clues) as to what should be done next. We ended up trying to unlock a padlock for 15 minutes that actually wasn't part of the game after solving the final one because we didn't know we had already 'escaped'. I also think they should adjust their prices to be more reasonable for the level of 'escape' they provide. All in all, it was a fun experience for our family. The employee was extremely nice and welcoming, he definitely deserves 5 stars for his service, and he was a pleasure to...
Read moreNot sure where the good reviews are coming from because this was literally the worst experience and we have done many escape rooms across the country as a family. I will add that we only did the casino room so maybe the other rooms are better? Gosh I sure hope they are because I couldn’t help but feeling like we got completely ripped off. There is no “casino” feel to the room. Not immersive in any way at all whatsoever. There was literally carpet hanging on the walls. Pictures were on the floor that fell off the walls. The tables had the cheapest felt table covers. This isn’t an explore nooks and crannies to find multiple clues. No excitement at all. Stare at the casino tables until you figure out the lock combination, a lock that is literally just sitting on the table. My boys were bored the whole time. We are familiar with more complicated clues and the answer was so simple that you overlook it because I’m thinking that we paid too much money that it couldn’t possible be that obvious. Also, the rooms are in a lower level of the building and it was hot and stuffy in there. No air movement at all. The gentleman running it did offer another room free as I had expressed my disappointment which I appreciate. My husband and boys took his offer and are doing another room now. I will update with their thoughts on the other rooms when...
Read moreMy 21 year old daughter and my mother planned an adventure to escape central for my 41st birthday as a surprise. We did the Agatha room and the casino room. It was just us three, we had a blast!!!!! Vincent, the gentleman who greeted, instructed and facilitated the escape central adventure for us, could not have been nicer! He was so pleasant, shared history of the building, furniture, creation of the escape rooms. He gave clues and set things up in such a manner that made us feel so welcomed, and at first we almost felt like his initial clues might make it too easy……. WRONG! Once we got going in Agatha’s room, we were very stumped and had to call for additional clues/help! Lol awesome experience, and Vincent definitely provided such a warm and inviting presence, wishing me happy birthday, and being interactive when we asked for clues, etc. it was almost like he was part of our group, cheering us on, and being excited when we put clues together and got back on the right track. It seemed like he was as excited when we solved the room as we were! Awesome Birthday!!!! Definitely ask...
