Goldenwest Credit Union — Local services in Salt Lake City

I've banked with them for over 15 years. They are great to get a loan through and are reasonable with fees and overdrafts. However, in the last two years, I have been issued 5 debit cards; cancelled because of security issues within the bank. This last time, someone actually got my information and spent money out of my account. Trying to file a dispute and get my money back was a nightmare. It took months and there was no confirmation or correspondence whatsoever during the process, so I had no idea what was going on. I had to call three times before someone would even answer the phone, and my messages were never answered. Additionally, the fact that they only have three locations makes it really difficult to physically go to the bank if I need to, and their online banking site is not very user friendly. I can't even get bill pay to load...

I made a horrible mistake. When I moved here from Chicago I directed to the Zions bank or dynasty. Today I closed my single, leftover account at Zs and literally headed across the street to neighbor Goldenwest. Streamlined, easy to navigate and simple explanations from a polite, engaging staff member made my year after coming off a horrible , recent Zs experience. I’m 26 years old and I’ve been a member of this credit union for over a decade. I’ve tried other credit unions during the many moves I’ve undertaken as an adult with a sense of wanderlust, but no other CU has been as responsive, accessible, personal, or as pleasant as Golden West.
