I came here on a layover and was hugely disappointed by the customer service and cold food I received. Mariam truly provided me with the worst customer service I have received in over 20 years. She refused to take my order and a few others in line stating it was 10pm and she could no longer take our order. After making that announcement she went on to giving away a free chocolate shake to a man and told him he didn’t have to pay for it because she was going to use her employee discount on him. This was a true slap to not only my face but to the other customers who was in line. Mariam abused her minuscule power of authority in that moment. I went on to approach Mariam after she gave away the free chocolate shake to the man in life before me and this is when the terrible customer service began. Mariam flexed her right to shut the line down and not help any more customers. I explained to her how that wasn’t fair to shut a line down then continue to help someone in that line and give them a free menu item. Mariam then flexed her minuscule power of authority stating to me directly “I have the power to refuse service to anyone for any reason.” In that moment her tone of voice and that statement seemed a bit racist to me. Mariam’s motive of shutting the line down and refusing to help the last few customers in line seemed like a total racist move at this point. I went on to be helped by the manager at the time and she was great. She apologized and took my order quickly and was able to even help me pick out a burger. My food came out cold which is surprising because I’ve never had cold food from Shake Shack before. I also ordered a lemonade and was later told it was out which didn’t make sense to be told at the last minute and not when I ordered. But that truly wasn’t the issue. Mariam and the worst customer service needs to be addressed! She doesn’t need to be working in such a fast paced environment with people when she doesn’t know how to control her emotions, make logical or ethical decisions or make authority choices that don’t...
Read moreWhen you look up terrible service in the dictionary, SLC Shake Shack is pictured. I've been here multiple times (due to the poor selection in SLC Airport), and the service is always the same. Slow moving, people jus standing around, and not pleasant. My last visit, however, inspired me to write this review. I ordered a chocolate shake, the girl at the counter said we're out of chocolate, so she recommended a black and white.... which was fine. She took my payment and handed me a receipt while putting a milkshake on the counter nowhere near me. I assumed it was not mine because she didn't say here's your shake, here you go, thank you while handing it to me.... nothing. Just kept it close to her. After nearly ten minutes of waiting and watching everyone else pick up their orders, I walked up and asked if the shake was mine. She said "Did you order a black and white?" I said "yes" and she said here you go...... I flat out asked her why she just didn't hand it to me in the first place. She looked at me for ten seconds like she didn't speak English and then responded... "Well, you can have it now" No apology, no sincerity. Just irritated that I interrupted her conversation with a co-"worker". Shake Shack should be...
Read moreTried shake shack for the first time. Did the single patty shack burger. It had a nice flavor. It's just enough to satisfy you so I'd try the double if I went again. The buns are toasted and they add lettuce, tomatoes and a mayo based sauce. Pretty good. At the airport they give you a buzzer so you can go find a place to sit while waiting for your order. There is also a panda express and a pizza place near by. Not to mention Rocky Mountain Chocolate.
The fries are crinkle fries with a twist. Not sure what the twist is but it makes them crunchy style. Not bad but I can't say they were my favorite. Not bad just different. Their lemonade is okay. (Go to Pizzeria Limone and get their lemonade if you want a good from scratch one). They offer both fountain and bottled sodas. The large cup gives a good amount of soda. I didn't hear many ordering the shroom burger. I did hear a few order the bacon but we didn't. They also have a cheese sauce for the fries. We didn't try it but they have it and you can do bacon as well. It's okay for the short layover when flying Delta. There is also a California pizza kitchen in the Delta terminal and the Sky Club is a fancier one. Muuuuuch better...
