My husband and I have been living here going on 10 months in a 3/2 apartment. We also have two large dogs (65 and 75 pounds). Overall, I would recommend this apartment. But here are my pros and cons:
PROS: The apartments themselves are nice and in great shape. The complex itself is just a few years old, so it's still pretty up-to-date. Bedrooms have carpet, bathrooms have tile, and the main living areas have laminate-wood flooring. The kitchens are nice with granite countertops and fairly new appliances, all worked well. We also got a washer and dryer included with our unit (not included in every unit) and they've always worked well. Offers a nice pool, fitness room, and dog park. Super close to good restaurants and grocery shopping. Management and maintenance have been responsive if we ever have an issue in our apartment. Covered parking spaces available for $20 per month. Overall, the property is kept up well by the couple of guys on staff and a landscape company that comes regularly to mow, weed eat, etc.
CONS: This apartment is expensive. Just under $1,500/mo for a 3 bedroom apartment...in a small town like San Angelo in West Texas...that's extremely overpriced to me. The dog park is not well-maintained. A lot of owners don't pick up after their pets and the workers don't keep it cleaned up. The dog park itself is not very big, but it's better than nothing I guess? Management threatens to hold people accountable to the rules but I've never seen or heard of any real reprimanding. The upkeep could be better for this property, especially when it comes the dog poop. We also had piles of cigarette butts outside our apartment for over a week before maintenance cleaned it up.
Overall, this apartment has been a good living situation for me, my husband, and our dogs. However, it's over-priced. I'd recommend comparing to other apartments in San Angelo before you choose this apartment. Although, this will probably be one of the newer/cleaner ones you can get into...
Read moreThis apartment was my favorite place I have ever lived thus far. Jennifer was incredibly helpful every time I had a question or a problem.
I never had any issues with the apartment unit itself- everything always worked as it should. The only maintenance requests I ever put in were for the sink and bathtub because they got clogged with my hair. My maintenance requests were always answered within 1-2 days of submitting them through the Resident Portal. The inside of my unit was also beautifully modern, with grey walls, hardwood floors, granite countertops, and brand-new black appliances.
The amenities are also great- the pool area, dog park, fitness center and clubhouse were excellently maintained. There are always snacks in the clubhouse as well.
Parking was never an issue for any of my guests, either. Covered parking is an extra, but reasonable charge. I highly recommend springing for that because hailstorms are quite common in San Angelo in the spring and the service centers get backed up with repairs.
I am military and needed to break my lease at the end of my assignment because it ended up being shorter than a year, and I had no issues doing so. I also received a portion of my security deposit back after cleaning charges which is the first time an apartment has ever done that- most college-type apartments just keep the whole thing regardless of how clean and undamaged I left it.
The location is also great, surrounded by undeveloped land but still close access to the freeway. It was very quiet and safe for a single female. I wish I could recommend that the managers buy up the property surrounding it to keep the quiet atmosphere.
All in all, a wonderful living experience and I plan on living there again if I ever pass through....

I've been a resident at Vistas at Red Creek for a while, and unfortunately, my experience has deteriorated significantly. Despite being a loyal tenant and a military member who receives a 5% discount, I've faced continuous rent increases upon each lease renewal. Alarmingly, I discovered that I'm paying more than a neighbor who moved in after my last renewal keep in mind at least that what my neighbor are telling me. This lack of transparency in pricing is unsettling.
The management frequently gives only a day's notice for apartment inspections, disrupting my schedule. What's worse is that they often don't show up after I've made arrangements to be present. This repeated intrusion is not only inconvenient but also feels like a violation of my privacy.
Additionally, I've encountered uncomfortable situations at the communal pool. On one occasion, a staff member singled out my family to check if we had the required pool bracelets, yet they didn't ask the same of other residents who were white. This selective enforcement was both embarrassing and appeared discriminatory.
Despite the high rent, the upkeep of the complex has been disappointing. The common areas, including the outside spaces and stairwells, are often unclean. This was not the case two years ago, and it's disheartening to witness such a decline in standards.
Overall, my experience here has been frustrating and far from what I expected. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the living conditions and practices for...
