Absolutely the rudest staff I have ever met anywhere, hands-down. Mark my words, the general manager better clean this up, or this business will crash despite the big name and nice hotel. I have traveled all over the world. My family and I were treated like trash. I am CEO and travel the world. I would never hire people that treat people in such a demeaning way.
My following review is only brief synopsis of what transpired that day. I was informed that my "service dog" was allowed before scheduling. I requested an early check-in at 11 AM, which was confirmed twice before driving to San Angelo. I had just traveled from Dubai to Dallas and drove to San Angelo the following day to attend a 4 PM wedding. Upon my arrival, we patiently waited with our service dog, my pregnant wife, and my daughters in the lobby. At 3:36 PM, I went to the front desk and asked do they know when the room would be available, to which I received the following snarky reply, "When I say it is ready." Again, I waited with my family.
At 3:58 PM, 5 hours after our confirmed 11 AM scheduled check-in, the manager came out and stated, "I hate dogs, and we do not allow service dogs. Oh, and we will charge you an extra $254 per night for your service dog". I replied ok, but do you know when or have an estimate when we get into the room? I have a 4 PM wedding, and I am already running late. She replied, "You don't listen very well. When I say it is ready. Ugh, I hate dogs". Finally starting to lose patience, I went to the desk and asked to cancel my reservation. The girl at the front said let me ask my manager about the cancelation. I waited again for another 20 minutes. The manager said with a disgusted look, "Oh, your room is ready, and you will be charged now. You did not cancel your reservation in advance." In response to their behavior, I went directly across the street at Homes2 and met their manager Felix. They did everything they could to make our time there worthwhile. Homes2 even delivered cookies for my family and daughters. I would recommend staying at Homes2...
Read moreWe were in town for a business trip and stayed at the courtyard. Before we reached our destination, I tried to use the Marriott app to check-in and it would not work. Once we were there we notified the staff. they were unfamiliar with app. They had never used it.
The room was very clean however the bed, even though relatively new, the pillows were very uncomfortable not the best day that I've had in a Marriott chain. I would suggest maybe offering different types of pillows weather feather, cotton or foam because the ones that were provided we're not very good on the support side.
The next morning we went to go to the pool but there were beer cans and trash surrounding the pool and cans down in the bottom of the pool with that being said it was very dirty. We notified the staff and within about an hour or so it was cleaned up.
The food that was offered was okay. the bar area was very nice and the outside Lounge was very nice as well.
We noticed the two elevators no matter which one we took had a very distinct smell like someone was using a e-cig or vaping inside of elevator. That was the only place we smelled this so maybe it was some type of electrical cleaning agent that they used but it wasn't pleasant at all.
We frequent Marriott quite a bit and our favorite is the JW of course. we will continue to stay in Marriott's but hope that a few of these suggestions will change some things going forward.
The staff was very courteous and we did enjoy our stay besides the couple of those few Hang-Up. overall it was a good experience with...
Read moreMy sister and I are here at the Marriott Courtyard in San Angelo TX. We are on business, handling my elderly mothers affairs and just got in from a full day. We called guest services to request towels, when I asked if someone could bring them up, the lady at the front desk said in a very rude tone "no you can come to the front desk" so my sister went down. Ann gave her pool towels. When asked are these pool towels she said they are towels. My sister said that's not what I asked. Ann told her that is all we have. My sister said those are pool towels and refused them. While in the elevator another guest asked my sister if Ann had been rude to her, my sister said yes. That guest said we've been here ten minutes and she's been rude to us to. Later, Ann brought up towels and in the set were two striped towels. The towels in the room have always been white, so I'm not sure where she got them from. I have a picture of the towels. Ann said in her rude tone "for your information if you put the privacy sign and want towels you need to ask the front desk before hand". I can't believe she can speak to guests in this manner. I asked her for the manager and she said I'm the only one here. Wow, the only one here! Oh and she also stated she was drying and washing towels that's why she gave us pool towels. We are frequent guest at this hotel and expect better service! Ann was rude the previous time we stayed, the manager comp'd our stay because she was rude and our room was unavailable until 7pm the day...
