I used to go to this Anytime Fitness location when my insurance used this gym as part of their added fee fitness membership but one day my access was suddenly cut-off with no reason or warning; it wouldnât even work at any other Anytime Fitness in the city. When I went to speak with management regarding my key fob not working, he rudely explained that I was no longer welcome to âcrowd his gymâ (due to being the only Anytime Fitness in the area not accepting of the insurance program) but I could double the monthly price and get my key fob working again; I said no thanks and walked out (why would I pay double?). I later spoke with a few different Anytime Fitness owners of other gyms and it was apparent that my Anytime Fitness account should not have been cancelled by the Stone Oak gym owner, as I still had access to all other participating locations as a MyFitness paying member. I was eventually able to regain access from another very kind Anytime Fitness owner at a different location who was very supportive and invited me back with no issues. In a way, having access removed from Stone Oak was a blessing in disguise as I discovered I could drive just 5 minutes more to a better Anytime Fitness at Overlook Pkwy or Huebner/W. Bitters, which has serious equipment for serious lifters. The Stone Oak location feels like a hotel gym compared to the Overlook location and some of the other gyms in the area. My advice: support a gym with owners who support our military members while also using a gym that has all the equipment you need at Overlook or Huebner/W. Bitters locations. The way management treats you ultimately tells you how they...
Read moreMy boyfriendâs home gym is the Overlook location (78261) in San Antonio, TX. A few months ago, we had been going to the Stone Oak location. To make a long story really short, I had a call from Brian (the wee little tot of a manager) telling me that he was going to switch his membership over to the Stone Oak location AND raise his monthly fees. Being the economically sound people that we are, we told him no thank you and that we would just go back to Overlook and his response was that he was going to lock his key fob so that he would not have access to âhisâ gym. From that point forward, we started going back to Overlook. However, today we were closer to the Stone Oak and went to try and go to Stone Oak, where we were told he would be locked out from and sure enough, key fob did not allow me him access. What is the point of having an ANYTIME fitness membership, if I cannot use it anywhere? This little man syndrome has got to stop. Please respond ASAP as this puts a horrible taste in my mouth regarding the whole Anytime...
Read moreSigning up for Anytime fitness was a breeze, and Brien was there to give a tour and get me sorted within 30 minutes of entering his office. The facility itself is well equipped, with free weights and squat racks as well as a good selection of machines and body weight equipment. Iâve been a member here for a few months and have yet to see a broken piece of equipment. The staff also work to ensure equipment is regularly cleaned. I was also put in touch with a personal trainer, Yesenia, who has expert knowledge on both fitness and nutrition. She created a custom plan for me to achieve my health goals while working to ensure I wasnât overworking myself too early. The results speak for themselves, and Iâm incredibly happy with my time here so far. Staff is awesome, facility is awesome, well worth...
