H-E-B — Local services in San Antonio

Number one: people who work there are extremely rude and unhelpful. Number two: All of the prices(for the quantity of product you get) are outrageously high, Number three: I bought a container of Carne guisada, paid $10.00 for it...got it home and discovered when I opened the container thar there was ONLY THREE SMALL PIECES OF MEAT inside the entire container. WHAT A RIP OFF! I PAID 10.00 FOR THAT? And the meat prices really are outrageously high and the meat quality terrible. I buy my meat from a strictly meat market(butcher shop). I'm going back to doing my grocery shopping at WALMART!

Last week or so, I contacted heb corporate office regarding a complaint against their store on North New braunfels ave. in San antonio Texas. Just like the management team at that store, the corporate office did NOTHING about my complaint. They said that they would investigate my complaint(that by the way was witnessed and verified by another customer), and that they would get back to me, but not one person from the corporate office has kept their word.. they never got back to me which tells me they never investigated the complaint at all either. HEB is the worst business ever! If I could rate them a zero...I would, they don't even warrant a rating of 1.

Really, this is all I get for the complaint filed " thank you for letting us know what you experienced?"...no " would you like to call (give number) me to discuss this matter further", no " we will look into this matter thoroughly" no " we take customer complaints seriously and will do everything in our power to resolve this issue so that it never happens again", no nothing but a plain "thank you f letting us know what you experienced". Wow, shows how much even the owner or corporate office of HEB REALLY value there customers! This business is extremely horrible! The homeless population that are around that store are nicer than ANYONE from HEB period!

I have gone into this store multiple times(today being most recent to purchase cigarettes that are advertised for one price, but ring up at a higher price and when I ask that they be given to me for the lower advertised price, I get attitudes from the employees who want to tell me they can't do that.. it is not the customers fault that these idiots can not price things correctly. It does no good to file a complaint with the corporate office because they change NOTHING, NO MATTER WHAT THE COMPLAINT IS! Therefore, I am just going to post on social media for the world to see for NO ONE TO GO INTO THAT STORE! HEB REALLY SUCKS!

These people really need to pay attention to their customers! i asked for 3 packs of marlboro SPECIAL SELECT cigarettes and the idiot at the register charged me for regular marlboros. She had to refund me the difference. Wow!.

Nothing at this store ever changes...everyone at that store is rude and disrespectful. It does no good to complain to management(I've been to them too many times, as well as their corporate office and still nothing has changed. i go into that store every single day and there are only 5 people in that entire store who treats me with respect. This H‑E‑B is in dire need of a complete overhaul. There is a lack of product selection, lack of adequate checkouts/staffing, poor layout, insufficient parking, and outdated despite adding a small sushi stand and light upgrade in the past few years.

The New Braunfels/Houston intersection where this H‑E‑B is located is known for frequent crime and/or vagrant gatherings. Unfortunately, this has made it unsafe for my family to go to shop here at certain times of the day despite H-E-B employing third-party security. For example, I am frequently asked for money from vagrants roaming the parking lot. There was a targeted shooting back in 2020, but fortunately we were not there at the time.

As a resident in the local area for several years, I have patiently waited for H‑E‑B corporate to help make a major change by (1) investing more into the property and (2) working with nearby owners (I.e., The Stevens Group, who owns the East Houston Square shopping center to the north) to improve the area’s safety/inhabitability. As the closest H‑E‑B to downtown SA besides the boutique South Flo location, and in a rapidly gentrifying area, I believe this location deserves...

I take some pride in giving honest reviews either it be a good one or a bad one and with that being said to give a boasting review to the only remaining major grocery chain in town would be in my opinion unjust simply because H.E.B has no competition there was a time when we had multiple grocery chains here including Albertsons, Kroger's, Handy Andy just to name a few , I intentionally left out Walmart and Amazon on purpose because in my opinion they are not truly grocery stores in order for them to be true grocery stores they must gain most of their income roughly 95% from the sale of food items and as far as I know they don't , and so now we are left with 2 options you either shop at HEB or you shop at your neighborhood corner store and until that changes and HEB has some competition the majority of the reviews HEB gets will be of course positive which in my opinion is not really fair and that's not to say HEB doesn't offer great choices in food and discounts etc they do but I feel like we need Another major grocery chain here in the beautiful city of San Antonio to give HEB some comp and lower the cost of food items and those honest reviews they so...
