I have been going to the echo thrift on E Street San Bernardino for more than a decade. I went today and left feeling mistreated by the women that work there. I heard them snickering at me as I was looking at clothes. And they spoke Spanish so I heard them talking about me. Then as I would see them around the store they would give me eye rolling. Then when I went to go purchase my things, one of them stood staring at me with another lady and a male. Three people were staring at me as I scanned my items. The lady that was putting away clothes was all of a sudden just standing there at the scanner registers giving me the same attitude that she has been giving me throughout the store. For some reason I felt like she had told the lady manager that is always standing at the registers something bad about me because even she gave me some attitude which she has never has done in all the years I have been going. I told them why are you all staring at me? I literally always come here. The lady manager who has been there for many years answered me with attitude and said we are not staring at you. The male worker was standing literally I foot behind me and the two ladies were standing 3 feet behind me. I don't know what is going on with this new management, but I do see a surplus of women workers putting away clothes and it seems like there is now more of a gossip culture developing and therefore there is now an insurgence of negativity happening because of it.This has to stop and upper management needs to be aware of what is happening with their women workers and how they are treating other women who are shopping at Echo Thrift. I have added my receipt to show day and time I was there. I was there on Friday, 3/29/24 at 1:51pm. Next time I go to Echo Thrift I will ask what is the name of the women I witnessed snickering at me and talking about me as well as the lady at the register that allowed for the intimidation at the register to happen. I will post their names here so upper management and the owner knows exactly who I am talking about.

I will not be returning, and I strongly urge others to reconsider supporting this establishment. This store has the audacity to sell used and often visibly worn clothing at prices that rival — and in some cases exceed — brand new retail items from stores like Walmart and Ross. Pajama pants priced at $15? I can purchase an entire new set for that amount elsewhere. Non-branded and Shein-quality purses marked at $15 to $26? Crusted, heavily worn shoes priced between $45 and $70? That’s not just outrageous — it’s predatory. Even more concerning: I witnessed what appeared to be bed bugs on a blanket placed right next to the handbag section. That alone should warrant a health inspection. This store is clearly not in the business of helping the community — it’s exploiting those who are financially struggling. There is nothing “thrifty” about being taken advantage of, and I refuse to support a business that operates on such shameful practices. Do better.

Today I was asked to get up from a chair upstairs by the security guard I ask him if they change the policy he replied "That's the policy I got" I want to make it clear he offer me a chair maybe from downstairs since I was just resting, since I had been resting for 10 minutes already I told him I didn't need one anymore and yes I got a disability I'm not just a lazy guy who likes to sit everywhere:-) Mark and the other guys know that.. The staff its great.

I have been a customer for 10 years of Eco Thrifty Store and this is the first time I have been asked to get up from a chair.

In the past 8 years Elders/disable had use those chairs to rest for 10 or 15 minutes and then continue their shopping personally know at least 45 disabled customers who need to take intermittent rests due to their chronic or medical needs. As a member of this community, it's important to know the places who are accessible and friendly to any person with a disability.

to all those who need to sit for a few minutes for now on let know the security guard to provide you with a chair as soon as you enter the door if you know, you may need to take a rest for a few minutes. This has been a great place Mark is a great "guy" Maria and other cashiers are fabulous.

Today I will rate Eco one star due to this incident it's always nice to see all business provided the disable accessibility and accommodation in the city of...

I do not understand how this place has such a high rating. They must be fabricated by the employees or something because when me and my family last visited it was the most worst experience by far. Right as we walk in 1 of the female employees and also "manager" where giving us some type of look as if the knew us and had a problem. They followed us through out the store nit picked at every movement we made and kept picking on my 5yr old son about what he was doing which was just being a normal kid. So we asked to speak to the manager it was a overweight chick with hickeys wrapped all around her neck and they where very unprofessional with thier manor everything was just trash. Mind you we went to spend some money and we had heard of the place so it was our first time visiting and boy was it our last. I will not ever be recommending this place to anyone I know the ladies here are absolute trash. So we followed up with the BBB on what had occurred and I'm hoping the straightened them out because no one who is willing to spend thier hard earned money should ever have to experience such an uncomfortable time like we did ever. This is sincerely 100% true and am hoping that this business got thier act right and HICKEYS removed. No hater status just true...
