I have been to many used bookstores across the country and I am not sure I’ve seen one with as beautiful a sunset view as Beach Town Books! What a wonderful shop. The employees were so friendly. The book selection was very strong. I collect history and railroad books and the collection they had was very good. I walked out with three banker boxes of books to take home. Why so many? Well, because I have a book problem. But, the pricing structure of Beach Town is very affordable. Most books are half off the listed price. And, every fourth book you purchase is free. I cannot stress how friendly the staff was. Numerous times, they answered phone calls and put callers on hold to walk the aisles and check if a book was in stock. Their recommendation game was strong, too! I hope that locals and visitors alike continue to give patronage to Beach Town. Small, family-owned shops dispensing literary knowledge are a cultural asset for a town. So, if you are anywhere near San Clemente, give them a visit. **Covid protocols** All guests are masked and limited entry but that was never an issue. They will happily clean and disinfect every book if you choose.

What a great secondhand book store! It has such a nice atmosphere. The employees were so nice and helpful. We actually had a good conversation and they just made the experience even more exceptional. The store has a lot of little cozy nooks with comfy chairs here and there throughout. You can take your time to browse or sit and read a little because you know you have to make that big decision, just how many books can you buy today. There is also a nice little room filled with children’s books. I could see that the children really enjoyed being there. They have a collection of local and handmade gift items along with some newly released books as well. If you like secondhand book stores this is a must stop on your trip to San Clemente!

I feel like I walked into a grandma’s home who happens to love books. It’s just a cozy and homey place. 😊 I am not used to reading books from a stack form. So it was a bit difficult for me to read the book titles while not being in people’s way, since the rows are narrow. They have a ton of used books but you may want to check their condition. For example, some books had writing from the past owners. Other than that I enjoyed the bookstore. They also have a restroom! One last thing, I appreciate that they give you $2 off your used book purchase per book you donate. I didn’t bring any books but I like having that as an option. We bought a few used book though.

I was disappointed with my whole experience. I saw advertising on IG so I thought I'd check it out. From the second I entered the store, I felt I was being watched. Then no matter where I was, there was a young lady supposedly stocking shelves but I know full well she was watching me. I did not see a large selection of books by African Americans but seeing how I was treated, I'm not surprised. Then I asked about a certain book and the cashier told me I needed to look at the price, which may have been possible if I could actually reach the books. There was a man in there with a dog off the leash. When i came around the corner the dog looked like he thought about biting me. That store is way to small for people with large pets. Clearly the dog wasnt a service animal. I would say i did like the old bookstore vibe, Overall, I felt unwelcome and I likely will...

Such a cute store with so many different genres, authors, and even older books. They have some nice retail items and cool beach tote bags! The prices are great and so are the discounts. My only complaint is they hardly have any new books, mainly because it’s 90% a used bookshop which I love! However, when I was looking for some newly released books I wanted to purchase, they didn’t have them and when I asked when new copies will be in stock, I was told they’re not selling many new books currently, which I thought was odd especially since it’s summer, and when I went in there were also lots of other people there too, whom in fact were as well asking about newly released books. I was told I could purchase a new book through them and have it sent to my address which is fine, but still I find it strange that a book store doesn’t carry newly...
