I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to any future tenants, family or friends! This place is not at all what we thought it would be. We are extremely disappointed with Mission Trails apartments. This complex is definitely not worth what they are charging. Our poor experience started in the first unit we moved into. There was a tenant that lived across the hall that was on drugs and would sit in his unit by himself yelling at people to leave. He would scream and yell at the top of his lungs from 9pm-8am the next day. He would do that for days. We had contacted the security at night here, we would call the police and we would inform Management. Nothing was ever truly done, we were told to keep reporting it because there was nothing they could do. It got to a point our daughter who was 2 would get scared to leave because she said the man scared her. We ended up seeing the tenant outside his door one day with an ankle bracelet on it for house arrest. We knew right then and there it was a red flag. Shortly after enduring that, we got a letter 9 months in living in the unit that our unit needed to be renovated and our lease could not be extended. We had two options, move to another unit or look for a new place entirely. We decided to stay since we wouldn't have enough time to save for a deposit on a new place and time to look, we might as well stay. Once we gave Management the news that we wanted to stay and we chose the unit we wanted to move into, we were given 2 days to move out. We weren't at all happy about that because my husband is a stay home dad and I work 12hrs a day 5 days a week and we have a 2 year old. We moved into our new building and our new unit. We were told the unit we moved into was newly renovated. We saw the new flooring and new ceiling fan and counter tops, but the cupboards were repainted with new doors put on. The cupboards had paint bubbling and chips in the wood. The drawers don't even open and close properly and the flooring is separating. We have mold that happens in both bedrooms, so bad that our daughters mattress got it at the bottom and we had to throw it away. There was a water leak from our upstairs neighbors bathroom that had leaked into our bathroom. It took the maintenance crew 2 weeks to finish it. Any maintenance needed in the units was always poorly done, my husband even caught one of the guys telling him he fixed something and he didn't, so we fixed it ourselves. We were put onto a waitlist for a parking spot that we just got and there is a leak in the garage that has now leaked onto my husband's car and is causing the paint to deteriorate and causing rusted stain in the paint. We have brought this up to Management and we automatically get a reply where they are defending themselves instead of trying to fix the situation. $2388.00 a month for this?!? No, absolutely not!! We will be giving our 30 days notice when our lease term is up. I will be telling people to not rent here as well. We have researched other complexes and have found way nicer places for the same amount of money or less. That is definitely the direction we'll be moving. Oh and any new tenants moving in, your units are being rushed for completing any renovations up till the day you move in. I saw tenants moving this weekend, one unit didn't get finished till 8pm the day before and another unit didn't get done till the day they were moving in in the afternoon. I hope this helps future tenants looking for a place to live to not waste their time and...
Read morePoor management and Over-priced (Please see entire review)
Brief Synopsis of Problems: Poor management (No care, very bias, and rude) Bad tenants (Don't clean-up after pets, leave trash out in front of door, loud at all hours of night) Cockroaches Always under construction making loud noises Treat military poorly Amenities never work (Jacuzzi always closed, dirty pet park, and poor property management)
Sares Regis- I just want you to know that your management does not do their job, and falsely signed a form stating that they would be at my apartment at a certain time to do my final inspect and did not show. Therefore I did not know what issues to fix, and I would be glad to share this form with higher management than what you have working at this property.
First issue- I moved to these apartments two years ago(April, 2015), and was paying a respectable amount of rent for the unit I was staying in (1 Bedroom ), and their was no issue with the management. After staying there a year I realized that my wife and I would like to stay in a 2 bedroom apartment due to the friendly staff, and the deal that was offered. Moving to the 2 bedroom apartment was the worst choice that I could of made due to the fact that the apartments were sold to a new company, and new incompetent management took over. In July when the temperature is the highest the AC decided to stop working, and a maintenance call was placed. After a day of no AC the maintenance man finally showed up, spilled water from the AC all over the floor, and underneath the bathroom cabinet, damaging the carpet and everything inside of the bathroom cabinet including my wife's make-up. We all know never to mess with a woman's make-up. I walked over to the management office, and the management did not care that they damaged my property along with the carpet. I brushed it off bought my wife new make-up and moved on. Another issue that I had was with packages. I would receive a slip in the mail stating that I had a package, and most were for my medical device that I need to sleep, and I would ask management for the package, and they would never be able to find it. I came back the next day and my package would appear. This happened multiple times and I personally feel that management did this on purpose to upset me even though they didn't know they were withholding packages that were detrimental to my health. The third issue is the tenants in the apartments. One night I woke up multiple times even though I had to work the next day at 6am, because tenants felt it necessary to pull the fire alarm. Management did not address this issue. I could go on about the reasons not to move to this place, but I think that you get the picture. The straw that broke the camels back was when I saw a cockroach on the wall. At this point I was completely disgusted as most people would be and began looking for places. I found a nice house for a reasonable amount of rent, and moved out as soon as my lease was up. I will end this review on the only good thing about this place which is the location. I really liked being able to hike Cowles Mountain or take a walk by Lake Murray. Thank you for taking time to read my review, and I hope that this place doesn't cause as many issues for you as...
Read moreIf you're military please dont move in here or even a regular tenant! We paid way too much especially for water! The garage is always leaking water therefore we are paying for waterr that really doesnt correspond to us. It is utterly disgusting to see water leak from hall ways as well. Maintence is a disaster my apartment was not even clean when I first moved in. And my door was not working. And even then my door was never really fixed! Everytime I called maintence they said my toilet was good and I kept telling them my toilet was leaking. The toilet stopper was broken and I told them what the issue was. instead of replacing the toilet stopper they just put caulking to fix it which it still cause it to leak. And everytime I still called to say the toilet is leaking through the caulking they would leave a note saying my toilet is fine. Next thing you know I have a horrible flood in my apartment because they kept avoiding the problem. "Oh but my toilet was ok." After they fixed my toilet guess how they clean the water leakage? They get all my towels and clothes to dry up the water! They couldnt ask for rags at least? I also had constant electrical issues with the outlet and the shower drainage they never fixed. I decided to email them of all the problems and things I've dealt with that way I have it for my own records. I officially moved out due to my husband military orders and notified them in person that the apartment was vacant and the one month rent would be late and was told it be fine and that they were going to notify Joe the manager. I am getting emailed about getting an eviction because apparently I am still living in the premises and there will be a law suit. Not only that but when I emailed Joe he states he never got a payment and that he would mark us being vacant starting from the day I sent the email. How is this possible when we went to the office to give notice IN PERSON before the email was sent? Stuff gets stolen here and damaged. My motorcycle was dropped and not only dropped but someone tried taking parts from it. I am sure my motorcycle was dropped when they had workers by the pipeline fixing stuff. The reason why I know this is because I saw the worker was working next to my bike along with looking at it and circling around it. I am pregnant so I havent been using my bike! Well when it came time to get rid of it since I won't be riding it I notice the damage in my clutch which was bent in! I am glad I had fram sliders because the body would have been wrecked too. And then from there I noticed missing parts by my handles bars! Please save yourself a headache and get somewhere where you can have a better secuirty and...
