What a joke...After seeing a segment on the trails on the news awhile back we had decided to one day try it. Well unfortunately for us we finally went last weekend. To start off there was about 10 employees hanging out and joking at the main bar. Some were still working as one even said "haha im over here but still on the clock for another 30 mins ughhh" and at one point the person who sat us went to join them and got a drink for a imprompt break I suppose. This wasn't even the worst of it, lets get to the menu. After reviewing it I finally found something I'd try (their club sandwich) and It said NOTHING about mayo on it , while all the others mentioned mayo...Guess who doesn't like mayo and got it on their sandwich:) Okay I took the fall for that one since I didnt specify, in my defense neither did their menu. Also I got a bowl of their french onion..big mistake. First of all it was LUKE WARM at best , and tasted like a cup of water with onions and bread. I had to wait for about 10 minutes while the crowd of employees hung out till one finally got up and I requested they get my server to get the soups re-heated....After they were heated they came back Warm , i guess an improvement from the luke warm..They probably tossed them in the microwave for another 10 seconds!

Too long to read my review? Cold soup , mayo on food that doesn't have it listed, poor service.

Oh and when we paid and left they just stared as we walked away , no "Good bye have a good day" or anything , though someone elses waiter yelled a faint "byeeeeeee" to another table when they got up to leave when we did. All in all this place...

We love Trials!! So happy this neighborhood staple maintained during this crazy time. This is the first time going back and they haven't missed a beat! Same great food, extra friendly staff, and always excellent service!

The food: I usually don't deviate from the trails french toast even though I came in with the intention of waffles. You just can't say no to the big fluffy slices of french toast. The portions are great! Coupled with coffee and veggie sausage it's my go-to! & Maybe just a few bites of my husbands potatoes 😜

My husband loves the country fried steak along with a biscuit. He's always a happy guy after ordering it.

The Service: (We went on a Tuesday late morning. No wait.) With the new precautions, you order your food once walking into the Eatery and you are able to seat yourself. This definitely seems to speed up the process to get your food out quicker for a faster turn around. The tables were santized, spaced out sufficiently for indoor & outdoor dining and everything came individually wrapped or packaged. The staff is excellent as per usual. Even though we can't plop at the bar like the good ole days the staff really makes you feel comfortable and ensures you're enjoying your meal. We never had to look far in order to get anything we needed.

The only thing I would say, while they don't explicitly rush you out, due to the fact they are more limited on seating the turn around is just quicker. You may feel more inclined to not hang around as long after breakfast is over.

Wanted to support local business nearby and picked this place. They allowed dine-in but we sat outside because we brought our dog. It’s blocked off using graffiti heart shaped concrete barricades.

We saw people who sat inside got their order taken at the table. But we sat outside so we placed our order first and paid before sitting down.

I love how their menu offers a variety of options like omelettes, French toast, specials, Benedict’s, their menu is organized but not overwhelming which lets me know that they are specialize in what they serve. Being on Restaurant Impossible in 2011 surely helped and I’m glad to see they are thriving today.

I started off with a mimosas flight that was served in a muffin tin. Four flavors, orange, strawberry, pineapple, and POG (passion fruit, orange, guava). It’s about a 6 ounce glass each and I got tipsy after two glasses, took a sip of the third and fourth but I couldn’t finish.

We got the crab cake benedict and meat lover omelette, both served with home fries. Home fries are basically potato slices. Be sure to ask for extra crispy or well done or else it’ll be slightly on the uncooked side.

I usually eat half a benedict but I ate it all! The crab cake patty was thick, crispy, not fishy and just enough crab. The omelette had a lot of meat and not as much cheese (I don’t like cheesy omelette). I would think the meat would make it salty but it was a bit bland. So adding a bit of hot sauce brought all the flavors...

This eatery looks really cute—clean and trendy. The service staff is nice, though our waiter seemed a little indifferent and hurried even though it wasn’t too busy mid day on a Thursday. The coffee is really good and they have fresh cream provided on the table that was still cold even at noon. Refills are frequent and flowing. I ordered the Brie omelette with grits and a biscuit. Husband ordered the recommendation of chilaquiles. His food looked really good, the chorizo was charred beautifully but he felt the dish could have used a little more meat. The tomatillo sauce that I tasted off the dish was yummy. My food was lackluster to say the least. The biscuit muffin was really good, light and fluffy with a strong biscuit flavor. The grits were terrible—dry and no flavor. The Brie omelette was also sad— two slices of Brie with the skin still on. Mushrooms felt canned and also without flavor. Everything needed salt. We will probably try this place again and I will try something more standard. This was just a disappointment—if you’re going to have crafty things on the menu they should be well executed.
