Very, very poor food quality. They asked me if I wanted Mexican guacamole or American guacamole of course I said Mexican guacamole because American in their eyes is a little bit of guacamole and a lot of sour cream (green goo). My order was guacamole and chips and my friend ordered rolled tacos and guacamole. To our amazement my "quacamole" was made out of 5% avocado and 95% pico de gallo. Drinks were watered down also. SHITTY SERVICE & GROSS FOOD.🤢🤮 If you don't believe me and you have some spare money burning a hole in your pocket then go and order what i had. Good luck!

Today I went and tried some carne asada fries. But as you can see the paisano cosinero (cook)did not only skimped me out no carne(meat) I paid 14 dollars not worth it you can get better carne asada at the cotijas in Sherman Heights. Pueden aser mensos a los gueros but you can not fool your own people. I got my money back but was really disappointed. Compared to Los panchos on Waring rd way better and bigger portion.

Nice size dining room, quiet spot. Fresh food. Just don't order the Cali burrito and expect very much carne asada; it is mostly fries. Fries are nice crispy texture just not enough meat in this burrito. Better off getting a carne asada and ask to add fries or get a side. Cheap moves, they can be more considerate.

I recently dined at Cotijas on Navajo Rd and had mixed feelings about the experience. The restaurant had a simple and clean ambiance, emphasizing a no-frills atmosphere.

For my meal, I ordered the #7 Breakfast burrito with hash browns, egg, cheese, and sour cream. Unfortunately, the presentation was disappointing, as all the ingredients were chopped up and mashed together, making it unappealing. The burrito's small size didn't justify its $11 price tag, and the taste fell short as well. The ingredients failed to stand out, leaving the burrito to taste like a bland mush.

Additionally, the portion sizes were inadequate for the price, and the value for money was not satisfying. On the positive side, I also tried their small bean and cheese burrito offered on Sundays for $2.89. Although it was tiny, the beans were excellent, and the red sauce added a delightful flavor to the otherwise lackluster meal.

Cotijas does have a unique dish, the Cali Surf and Turf, which I noticed being served to another table. It looked massive and reasonably priced at $14+. However, I didn't try it myself.

In terms of improvements, I would recommend leaving the ingredients in their distinct forms rather than mashing them together. Adding more sausage to the breakfast burrito would also enhance its taste and value.

Overall, my dining experience at Cotijas on Navajo Rd was below average, and I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5. While the friendly staff and the red sauce were highlights, the lackluster breakfast burrito and small portions were significant drawbacks.

The staff was friendly and courteous, which made the dining experience...

Wow!!?? Worst food and service I have experienced in quite a while. This place USED to be a nice little neighborhood taco spot with decent Mexican food & ok prices / deals. Owner must be asleep at the wheel lately. We have unfortunately had to boycott this establishment as of recent because of 2 extremely horrible experiences. Each time has been after 6pm. BEWARE! We should have known better after 1st time, but had great food from here many times B4 and thought 1st time was just a bad night for young staff.

1st time-The potato tacos were so wet and soggy, to point of turning the corn tortillas into corn mush. Food was NOT EDIBLE. We took a loss first time.

2nd time - Thought we would give it another try and DAMN, same deal, but when asking for refund, staff was baffled on what to do, tried to deny us a refund, were very defense and it was a nightmare just getting it taken care...

I came in because i saw a sign “rice and bean burrito for 2.59” (can you believe the price!:). I asked just for the rice and beans without the tortilla to save the tortilla since i wasn’t going to eat it. That offer was rejected and i didn’t want to push my chances since the person at the counter already had a visible frown :) so i just settled for a burrito:). When ringing me, to my surprise she announced that rice and bean burrito is on special so it is 1.90. I unfolded the burrito and enjoyed the rice and beans with some carrot and onion pickles and topped the while thing with spicy sauce. Filling and good! They have 3 types of whole and cut peppers and 3 types of salsa sauces for free. Despite the unbelievable price, good food and freebies i gave it a 3 star - frown did its job:) if you don’t mind the frown - it is a solid...
