I don't normally like to leave negative reviews but I was really disappointed with the service here. I'm in town temporarily and wanted to take my daughter for a girls day. I had previously gone to Cur Bar a few times so I was hopeful I would have a similar experience.
My daughter wanted rainbow nails, a different color for each nail. Veronica came over and was irritated that we didn't have colors picked out (we were seated right away). She kind of had some attitude and I saw her roll her eyes at the front desk when she asked about the charge for the "design" which I was totally fine paying.
I was getting gel, I wanted a sparkly red with white polka dots because we are going to Disneyland. Everything seemed to be going ok until Thi who was doing my nails, was confused about the polka dots. She was making them all different shapes and sizes which is not what I asked for. She couldn't understand what I wanted. I even asked if she had the tool with the round ball on the end, since that's what they usually use for polka dots. Veronica spoke up and asked if I wanted big or small dots and I said it didn't matter as long as they were dots, these were not any shape. Veronica handed Thi the right tool but Thi still made different shapes and then used the round tool to fill around it. I was tired of complaining so I just accepted it since it's Christmas and it kind of looked like snow. I also asked for paraffin wax and she didn't do it.
Kathy was doing my pedicure and she was very nice and talked to my daughter most of the time. She then asked me if I had more children and I replied with no, just the one. She then proceeded to make a big deal about having another one, to which I replied that some people don't have the choice, since I've had infertility issues, and dealing with multiple family illnesses, it was a sore subject for me. She wouldn't let it go. I finally had to tell her I didn't want to talk about it anymore. She then got very cold and left without putting the "polka dots" on my toes but I was done by that point anyways.
Overall, I would not recommend this place. I try not to be difficult but I felt like the service was...
Read moreI saw the shop when I went to Target, and the sign said 20% off ALL services for grand opening. I came home to google and read all 5 star reviews so decided to try it. I did my normal dip powder manicure and was very pleased with the look and the professionalism of the gal. I have long nails and very particular how they look. (I believe there is an extra $5 charge for long nails, but my normal gal and other shops charge for long nails now. Just wanted those reading this to know.) The next morning I was untangling my puppies leash around his body and one nail snapped. I honestly believe it was just a freak thing, no one's fault. I called Paul whom was very nice about it and said to come in free of charge to fix it. When I tried to tip the tech she didn't accept. My nail was sore from where it broke and she was very concerned/nice about it as she fixed it, constantly checking in with me. True beknown, I sould have waited until it healed but she had done such a great job the day before in the look, I wanted her again. I also decided to try a pedicure since it was on sale and I was there already. I was equally pleased. Every tech is very friendly. Paul the owner is very nice, warm, friendly and above all, customer service oriented, it is his top priority. (I actually felt bad going back in the next day for the fix he was so kind.) He offers you a drink, and when I said I didn't really drink he offered water.I He walks around to make sure that every single customer is pleased with their service. I understand why they have all 5 star reviews. Let's face it, there are nail studios everywhere, so you must stand out and they do. Customer service, along with professionalism is highly...
Read moreI came to this place by mistake. I had made an appointment at another place that I was going to visit for the first time and ended up here instead. Regardless, I decided to give it a try, which I totally regret. I came in with a picture of what I wanted and they said they could do it, “no problem.” My nails were completely botched. I was too embarrassed to tell people I had paid for them so I kept saying that a friend’s daughter did them because she is practicing to get her license. My acrylic nails had hairs from the brush used to apply the powder. No way of taking that off without getting a new set. The blouse I was wearing was ruined because the glue used to place the flowers I wanted on my nails got all over the place. When the lady doing my nails saw I was getting upset, she proceeded to tell me that this was the first time she had ever try something like this. This made me even more upset because I showed them a picture and they said they could do it. I also had my eyebrows done and more hair was taken out from one eyebrow and instead of trying to fix it, they told me to just cover it up with makeup. My toes were also done and my nails were so uneven. To top it off, they were trying to collect payment from me before my nails were even done. I think they wanted to ensure I did not leave without paying. Overall, I was very disappointed with the...
