Luna Grill Paseo Del Sur — Restaurant in San Diego

At first glance, the restaurant looks nice. The food also looks good, but it is served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. So it looks more like a RV park Food Truck quality than a restaurant. I ordered 4 flat cut chicken kabobs and one chicken pita. Not only me, but also my 4 guests said after trying the chicken, that the meat was smelling terrible. It smelled old and rotten. I've never smelled anything so disgusting like that. As I only eat predominantly Mediterranean food and especially only chicken and have often been to Greece, Italy and Spain, I can say with certainty that the meat was rotten! And something like that served on paper plates with plastic cutlery for $90 is really outrageous. By the way, the pita bread was cold, the salad was cheap and easy, the dressing was disgusting and the tzatziki tingled on my tongue like champagne. In my opinion and also my guests opinion, the chicken and also the tzatziki were rotten. We ended up at in-n-out. So I can’t recommend this “restaurant” to...

The highlight to this location is the modernized decor with gold chairs, uplifting quotes, and open space. I especially like the rectangular chef's table for large parties including the outdoorsy picnic like set up.

Unfortunately, I don't have the same high accolades for the food or wait time. And I used to be Luna Grill's number one fan.

Consistency is now hit and miss and I'm over the packaged pita bread please make fresh pita bread. Or at least warm it up or add some olive oil and thyme to at least doctor it up. I have to make my carb calories count. And truth be told, I will likely eat here again. You know how it goes. Wait another 3 to 6 months to confirm or refute if Luna Grill continues to receive improved stars. I also don't like, at this location, if other Luna Grills are having a promo for customers, this one will not honor it. Yeah, yeah I don't care about the independently owned stuff. I recently visited Luna Grill and had an excellent dining experience that I can’t wait to share. We ordered plates of kabobs and gyros, which were delicious and well-prepared, with each dish showcasing fresh ingredients and rich flavors. The kabobs were perfectly grilled, and the gyros were tender and seasoned just right. It was clear that care went into crafting each dish.

The restaurant was clean and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The service was outstanding—every staff member we interacted with was friendly and attentive, ensuring our experience was top-notch from start to finish. We also enjoyed the outdoor patio, which provided a lovely setting to relax and savor our meal in a pleasant atmosphere.
