Out of town from Denver and had a dip manicure and gel pedicure done. Honestly one of the worst services I’ve ever had.
I was sat right away. Anne picked out the perfect color for my mani. And Elle did a great job shaping and cutting my toe cuticles for my pedi. However, for my dip manicure, I was left with a 5/10 shaping and drilling job. Stained residue left on fingers and cuticles, and finished off the job with a clear coat of polish left to AIR DRY. I asked if I could use the UV light just so the polished top coat could harden. Anne said “No, we don’t do that for dip”. I gave an 18% tip out of $108 service and was on my way.
I went back to my car and observed the manicure quality in the sun and within seconds I walked back in and asked if I could use the UV light just for 30 seconds and they said no.
I didn’t like the vibes and I was given no explanation why I couldn’t use the UV light. Perhaps it was a language barrier? But if that’s the case, you shouldn’t be running a legal business in America if you aren’t able to effectively communicate with your customers.
I went down the street to Coco Nails and Spa and was sat down with Ty who COMPLETELY reshaped, refilled, and re-coated my nails with A UV LIGHT. Ty said the manicure from Pacific Beach Nail Salon looked rushed and like it was done by someone trying to use their left hand.
I went BACK to Pacific Beach Nail salon and told them I had gone to Coco Nails and Spa to get my dip manicure redone. I told them I loved the gel pedicure by Ellen, but I was not satisfied by my dip manicure by Anne. I spoke with Anne and she explained that they don’t do refunds on services and told me to call the owner.
I called the owner Angie, while still at the nail salon. I explained to her my situation and she began to gaslight me and say I never asked for a UV light and the UV light is only for customers who want a gel coat (which is an add on). Angie may have been a loud talker, but it sounded like she was screaming at me over the phone to the point where customers around me could hear the conversation from my phone which wasn’t not even on speaker. She said “you’ve been here a few times and you never complain! Why you complain now?!”. I’M VISITING FROM DENVER. Maybe she got me confused with another black girl? Not sure, but besides the point, she wouldn’t even let me explain that I’ve never been here before. Couldn’t even get a word in.
The conversation ended with Angie offering me a 20% discount on my next service.
I understand that they have a strict no refunds policy and I can respect that as a small business decision. But I was disappointed in the lack of accountability and immediate defensive responses.
Ladies, this is the nail salon...
Read moreIf you need anything done toes or hands ask for Jennifer! It was my first time here and per usual I always get the most expensive pedicure. Jennifer was doing my dip and Vanessa my toes. The pedicure is $67...and I was told it includes everything! I am in healthcare and walk on my feet alot and value a good pedicure. Vanessa did not even look at my feet as she was scrubbing them she was looking a the walls and so she didnt even hit the normally rough foot areas. I was praying this wasn't the only foot scrubbing. In total, for both feet she took 15 seconds to scrub them she used only water. I asked about callus remover (I got the most expensive pedi because I have calluses) and they said it's an extra $9 charge to their most expensive pedicure. What I was paying for was $67 +$20(for the gel polish) = $87 is for a gel pedi without any foot scrubbing...foot scrubbing is extra. I have never heard of such a thing. The $87 is for use of organic products. They said every salon is different and this is their way of doing it. This was the first time I was going to leave with an $87 pedicure and no foot scrubbing/very light with water thus rough feet. I was about to cry.
Jennifer rectified the whole situation and took over my pedicure and made me a happy customer but I could sense the tension in the room as everyone stared at me because I spoke up about how I was going to pay $87 and get my feet scrubbed with water??
Jennifer did an amazing job on my nails. It was so awkard I cannot return as Vanessa made me feel uncomfortable but if you give this place a chance ask for Jennifer. Her warm demeanor, attention to detail, and skills are superior to any that I have seen...
Read moreI absolutely love this place, they have done an amazing job with my nails every single time, they have great customer service and are accommodating as well even through all of this crazy Corona virus stuff. The last time I went my mom showed up from out of town a day early and also had my grandma with her, it was my best friends birthday so I had booked an appointment for my daughter my bestie and myself to get our nails done, then when I called that day to see if by some miracle they could fit 2 more in at the same time on a Friday night during covid where they were already limited..... They not only got us all in and did an amazing job, but they were kind about it. It was my 72 year old grandmothers first time ever getting her nails done. They made this so special and they are just so sweet and my nails always look amazing! This is for sure my new spot, I can always get in and leave happy, thank you ladies so much for always providing such an amazing experience. Can't wait to see you...
