I first came across Renegade on ClassPass and was so impressed with the experience that I decided to become a member. This gym offers a wide variety of bootcamp like classes with fantastic energy and some truly talented coaches. While there are a few who are overly egotistical and could use a come back to earth reality check and a touch more humility, the majority of the coaching staff is excellent. Two standouts are Gabrielle Y. and Christian Q., who make working out an absolute pleasure. Gabrielle’s welcoming demeanor and contagious positivity create a great atmosphere, and Christian’s coaching style is equally motivating and supportive.
The classes themselves are high-energy, challenging, and adaptable to different fitness levels. What I love most is that each coach brings their unique style and energy to the table. Once you find the coach who resonate with you, it’s easy to stick with them and stay consistent. The variety keeps things interesting, and you’ll never get bored while working toward your fitness goals.
One of the challenges, however, is parking. Since Lazy Acres put up signs claiming what feels like half the lot, finding a spot can be a headache. I’ve learned not to arrive too early because spots typically free up only once the previous class ends. While it can be frustrating to circle the lot, a little patience and timing go a long way. It’s something to keep in mind when planning your visits.
The gym itself could benefit from more regular cleaning and maintenance. A deep cleaning is definitely overdue, as dust, hair, and even cobwebs can be seen in corners. Some benches are rusty and could use replacing. While these issues don’t take away from the quality of the workouts, they do detract from the overall experience. Many other gyms in the area have weekly professional cleaning services, which could be a great addition here to help maintain a fresher, more polished environment.
Despite these minor drawbacks, Renegade remains a fantastic place to work out. The membership is reasonably priced, although ClassPass is still more affordable and offers lower price penalties for late cancellations. Overall, the quality of the classes and the dedication of standout coaches like Gabrielle and Christian make this gym worth checking out. If you’re looking for a challenging yet welcoming environment to achieve your fitness goals, Renegade is a solid choice—just plan ahead for parking and connect with the coaches whose energy...
Read moreAn incredibly solid workout worth checking out and/or adding to supplement your workout routine.
I've heard of Renegade through word of mouth from multiple friends, and only recently decided to check it out - shout out to my good friend, Jose Valencia for bringing me along.
You will be sweating - no questions asked. You'll be moving through three stations or in other terms, three different sections - Cardio, Rack and Turf. Each section will have a set of exercises to complete, inclusive of recovery time and alternative workouts, if you can't perform one of the listed movements. There are white boards located throughout the studio to help you keep track of the current workout.
Honestly, I was pretty overwhelmed for my first two classes. However, you'll eventually catch on! Sometimes it takes a class or two to get calibrated. The best thing to remember is that you're on your own journey and pace and everything is just a recommendation. Just try to make friends with a neighbor and they'll show you the ropes. Each time I went, everyone was super friendly, accommodating and totally helped out whenever I had a question.
Kudos to Jordan Tuzon for being an awesome instructor. He was fun, engaging, personable and super helpful throughout class - especially for a beginner like myself. Often times, it's hard for new people to get quickly up-to-speed with a workout class, especially with unfamiliar exercises and/or the structure of the class. It's easy to feel like you're lagging behind the rest of class and/or being a distraction for being that "new guy," but Jordan didn't make me feel like that at all. He was thorough, kind and most importantly, patient, in addition to delivering a comical, top-notch workout experience. If you're his boss, give this man a raise. He's definitely a tier above some of the coaches I've had at other group fitness classes.
Pro-tips: Bring a towel Bring a water bottle Bring a buddy :) Take Jordan's class
Overall, I'm a fan and will be adding to Renegade to my...
Read moreI spent years doing various workouts. Never really satisfied with one place. I was a loyal ClassPass user until they got rid of unlimited classes. On my quest for my next gym, I walked out of my first class at Renegade Fitcamp and knew I had found what I was looking for. The format is three, 15-minute segments. One in the rack (with weights, bands, TRX), one on the turf (with steps, bands, gliders, battle ropes, and kettlebells), and one cardio (between the treadmill and assault bikes). In each block you have your own personal space and can work at your own pace. Each weekday focuses on a different muscle group, so if you go every day you are covered! While you will see a handful of the same exercises throughout the week, every workout is different! I am never bored. There are blue lights above the treadmills, which make you glow if you’re wearing neon, which I make a point to do. It’s a small but delightful touch that makes me happy, while making the cardio block a little bit easier. Cleanliness is very important to the Renegade team. The gym is constantly cleaned and never gross, and the equipment is brand new (as of 4-2-18)!! The instructors are excellent. Both helpful with corrections and modifications and encouraging as you sweat it out. The workouts are listed on the whiteboards every day, and the instructors explain and demonstrate (for the visual learners) the exercises before class and then guide you through your workout. I love starting off my day here. Definitely...
