My experience here was mixed. I think it really depends on the technician, there are probably at least 20 different technicians here on any given day.
I got a regular pedi and gel mani.
Pedicure - 6/10 complementary massage was nice but uneven from left to right leg. I can see the unevenness in polish strokes in certain lighting, and there’s a super small bubble on one toe, but not really noticeable from eye level.
Manicure - 3/10 it’s now been 4 days since I got them done, and the edges where the gel polish pooled at my cuticles is starting to peel up. The lady who did my nails filed one finger so aggressively that there was a cut, and when I flinched she continued filing anyway. When I went back later to get some nails redone, the second lady noticed the cut and apologized. The manicure overall is not smooth (maybe too many layers of polish?) plus the cuticles peeling is not good.
I went back to get two nails redone because it was lumpy and one nail even had something hard/pokey in the polish. Kudos for redoing the nails quickly and better! Really appreciated the second lady for being accommodating and nice - added one star for that.
I would not go back to this nail salon. I suspect that some technicians are better than others, but my experience going in blind...
Read moreSkillful, but will nickel and dime you. This is a decent choice for a nail salon if you live nearby but they are EXTREMELY greedy. They charge $4 to remove gel from your nails and feet. Why would you charge $8 to remove polish that your business put on AND already upcharged us to do so? I took that $8 out of the tip I left and I'd urge others to do so because that is ridiculous. Gel removal should be included in the high price and the $50 we already have to pay. They also have little respect for the choice of the customer. I had to practically beg my nail tech (multiple times) to not use the e file on my natural nail because for whatever reason, my nails always break whenever the e-file is used on them. The phone attendant also answers all calls to the business on speaker phone at the loudest possible setting, meaning that the entire room can clearly hear callers and all of their business, including their name and phone number. Honestly, I'm a faithful Beauty Lounge client and will remain so now that I've seen what else the neighborhood has to offer. Even if the quality of their work is good, they are certainly not the professioNAILS they...
Read moreWent for acrylics and a pedicure because of a wedding I’m in. The lady who assisted me started to do a regular gel manicure and I told her I wanted acrylics. She didn’t understand so eventually I gave up and proceeded with a gel manicure. The gel was all over my skin and she kept using her nail to try to clean it up around the edges which wasn’t working. After curing it with the lamp there was still a lot of gel around my skin and I told her to which she took clippers to cut the gel and skin off. This clearly wasn’t going to work and the lady who was doing my pedicure told me it would just wash off. I gave up trying to fight her.
A couple days later my skin is peeling from around my fingers. Honestly, I could’ve done a better job with my own kit at home. This is how you end up with allergic...
