The field station is a must for families (and we are a homeschool family). There is plenty to keep your kids of all ages busy. Painting, sketching, clay, plants from the Presidio, and even more! There are even naturalists on staff to help guide and answer any and all questions.
There is a very clean bathroom right outside (it’s a gender neutral bathroom - so expect that) it’s so nice to be able to take my 2 girls and 2 boys in the bathroom with me and even my husband without anyone batting an eye. It was a bit less busy than usual, a staff member mentioned -due to local schools starting back up for the year. Plenty of nature related activities for all ages, from drawing and reading, to plant life and geography.
Definitely drop by before or after a walk though the Outpost activities. There is a cute box holding maps to share. And warm tea to share, amazing on a cold day!
Open Wednesday to Sunday, closed Monday & Tuesday. I plan to...
