It was really disappointing to see the condition of the room we stayed in. Bathroom walls & around the edges were dirty and even rusted. The bathroom fan was filthy and full of dirt and black dust which was falling every time we turn the fan on. The shower towel had an insect with wings inside it. Kleenex Holder at the wall was not properly used for a reason we do not know. Room was very dirty with a lot of dirt and black dust behind TV stand. Ceiling had dirt hanging down at the corner and mid-room like a spider looking. The dresser was extremely old to the level the wood started to peel-off at the bottom (pictures are available upon request). Just in general, the room was absolutely dirty, old and sadly, it did not represent to us the quality we expected from Wyndham Corporation because, and regardless of being a privately owned location, it is carrying the Wyndham's name all-over, and we hope that Senior Management for Wyndham Corporation takes a note about this location if they really care about the reputation of Wyndham, regardless of ownership. Especially, we were told that some rooms would be going some kind of upgrades and renovations, and we got the impression that current owner is more interested in cutting corners and filling the rooms as fast as possible regardless and it gives us the impression that the condition of rooms would properly stays the same ugly and dirty looks rather than bringing rooms up to standards of Wyndham Corporation. We have taken pictures of what we are saying here and are available upon request. However, and most importantly, it should be noted that our feedback is unequivocally not intended as criticism or to pin-points but rather to really improve and bring up the deteriorated condition of these rooms to a better and suitable condition that reflects Wyndham Corporation as a great place for Hotels & Resorts, regardless of the type of ownership BECAUSE it is...
Read moreIf you go in with the right expectation, the Travelodge Presidio is a great find. It's a motel in the truest sense, but we expected that and got just what we wanted...a clean room, friendly staff and a really good location. We were able to walk to many places (including Fisherman's Wharf) and bus lines abound to get anywhere else. And there is always Lyft, Uber, or if you really want an experience, a Waymo driverless car. Sure we could have spent a lot more (our nightly room charge wasn't a lot less than the daily parking fee at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero) but for a Boys' Weekend to see the Giants play, this motel was exactly what we wanted:||The positives:|Clean, Comfortable Room|Really helpful, friendly staff|Accessible to many (most) parts of San Francisco by foot or public transportation|Continental Breakfast (very basic but a real nice to have if you want it)|Free parking||The negatives:|The building is old and dated but they've done the best they can to make it clean and comfy|Very Limited Free Parking (we walked or used Lyft because we were afraid to drive and lose our parking space during our stay)|Irritating WiFi experience (we had to log on each time we wanted to use it rather than it being good for our entire time on the property)||We feel as if we discovered a new place to stay in San Francisco. The price was right and the location...
Read moreThis is a great location, but another example of where Wyndham hotels, a reputable name, slaps its name on a rundown motel. It’s not the first time… But it will be our last
The location is amazing, particularly if you want to stay close to the Presidio or doing something at the Palace of Fine Arts… Which is why we spent the night there although we live in the area
The front desk manager, Peter, couldn’t have been nicer. But this is a rundown motel. It also has two or three of my biggest pet peeves
When we walked in we were hit by an overwhelming stench of floral room freshener, which of course was being used to cover the smell of mildew
Personally I always wake up with a stuffy nose when I have to sleep with those chemicals or mildew
Room was sufficient and the mattress and pillows comfortable… But it was so depressing in there. A muddy color on the walls, slanted art, and another pet peeve… Dirty lampshades… One of the cheapest and easiest ways to freshen up an area
Peter tells me they’re renovating the place, in which it might be worth than nearly $200 we spent for a weeknight
But for now, I would think twice… It’s an old motel and with a little love it could be fine, but...
