Starlight Market — Local services in San Francisco

While the owner, Steve, is a good man, he has multiple members of his extended family working for him, and their behavior is the only reason I afford them only 1 star. I understand that it's a difficult and daily challenge to provide the predominantly homeless population there on Jones and Ellis with booze/tobacco/EBT-provided chips and candy and other nonsense, all within spitting distance of Glide, (a six-floor provider of 3-square meals a day/health-care services/homeless-shelter 'reservations'/etc., et al.); but the fact remains that certain of his employees treat the homeless population as merely afterthoughts (treating them with disdain and looking down on them with a misguided sense of superiority. I understand that while Starlite Market greatly benefits from the governmentally-backed $ of its clientele (especially during the first week or 2 of every month, just after most of the homeless have received their SSI/Disability/General Assistance/Food-Stamps/and other money's the government has seen fit to allocate out of the hard-earned tax-revenue from the rest of us working-folk, there is absolutely no reason for Starlite's mistreatment of customers who simply desire to purchase a package of candy or a single beer. I will never spend $ at the Starlite again. And as for the cashier who insulted me (the guy with only 1 long eyebrow across his forehead), I hope he seeks forgiveness from Allah, or Jesus, or God for his wanton discriminatory behavior against anyone who's...

Incredible customer service from the middle aged man of probably mid-east, south-east decent. the store is very clean and a big fat friendly grey kitty cat minds the premises. Large selection of beverages, dry goods, cigarettes, alcohol and general amenities. I would highly recommend this store as prices are higher than a bigger grocer but not astronomical like other corner stores. As an example, I purchased 2 large cans of chicken breast, 2 large Starbucks glass bottle frappe, 1/2 gal of milk and orange juice, and the price was $21. 5 stars for customer service 5 stars 🤩 for cleanliness and...
