I’ve been consistently coming here since December 2021. It’s close to home so it’s convenient for my needs. it’s on the smaller side, but gets the job done! The staff are friendly, easy to talk to if you need help. Such a great little gym community I stumbled upon one day. I’ve had a personal trainer since January 2022. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The more I focused on my physical health, the better my mental health became. More muscle & more confidence. I am currently working with Jacob as my trainer! I’ve fluctuated on my weight &struggled with my mental health over the last two years, but finally feel back on track. Jacob is very supportive & involved with our workouts. He pushes me to reach my potential, which is what I need. I’m seeing increased results and strength. I get it, working out can seem like a chore at first but I’m grateful for every trainer I’ve had here (Edgar, Marko, & now Jacob), who have made working out fun and something I don’t dread, but look forward to. All the trainers &staff here seem so nice & approachable, working with a trainer is a huge investment to my health (physically & mentally) I highly recommend working with Jacob. He’s knowledgeable, professional, easy to talk to, our sessions are challenging, but so fun! & rewarding. Our sessions serve as therapy for me. I’m grateful he’s flexible with my work schedule too. It’s great to have a trainer like him as a motivator in my fitness journey. 5/5 stars for JACOB!!āļø

Updat#2 10/21/23 Hours still suck. No expansion of hours. A gym that closes at 8pm on a Saturday is terrible. The other day there were 2 associates at the counter and not one person greeted me or said hello. They are chatting away with each other or on their cell phones. I could go to the gym 15 days in a month and I might get a hello once. The only person that greets customers is ALI and I have not seen her in a while. Who is managing this impersonal place of a gym. This place should be called Barely Open Fitness not 24Hr Fitness. Sheesh. Update: it’s been hot in SanJose lately and this 24hr Fitness either doesn’t turn the AC on or it’s super low. It’s so hot that the humidity on the basketball court makes it damp and slippery. Definitely hazardous. Covid restrictions are over, please open your gym later in the evening. Closing at 8 PM on the weekend is ridiculous. I was here 6/7 and 6/9/23 in the late evening a hour before closing and the guy at the front check in counter does not greet you or smile or say hello. Not friendly at all. Poor customer service. Hours at this gym are terrible. They close at 10 pm Mon-Thursday and 9 pm on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday the close at 8 pm. Equipment can be broken and stay broken for some time. Not sure who is managing this place but it can use some improvement.

I l visited today 24 Hour Fitness on Hillsdale in San Jose with a 3-day free pass I received via email. The pass clearly stated that it was valid for 3 days at most 24 Hour Fitness locations. However, upon arriving at this branch, I was informed that they only honor a 1-day pass and that I would need to pay $20 for a 3-day pass. To make matters worse, when I asked for an explanation, the general manager showed me some random notes that did not provide any clear or relevant information about why the pass was not being honored as advertised. This inconsistency between the email and the in-club policy is frustrating and misleading. Nowhere in the email or on their website does it indicate that certain locations might not honor the 3-day pass. This kind of bait-and-switch tactic is disappointing and not what I expected from a reputable fitness chain. I will be contacting the FTC to report this false advertisement and hope 24 Hour Fitness will address this issue to ensure clear and consistent communication across all their platforms. Potential customers should be aware of this discrepancy before planning their visits.

I am new to 24hour Fitness, so I will preface with that. 3 days into the membership and I have visited now 4 locations to find my new ā€œhomeā€. I think I finally found it with the Hillsdale location.

Location: I arrived around mid-day on a Thursday and still easy to find parking. I also felt safe in this area too.

Facilities: the best out of the 4 locations I visited in the past 3 days. Clean floor and layout. Makes sense. Music level is just right…not too high to be an issue and not too low to cause a strain for those that forgot to bring their own. Pool area including hot tub, sauna, and steam the best out of the locations thus far. Shower area the cleanest too. Areas of opportunity would be marking broken lockers (not too many but there were a few) and nothing like a good spray down in the sink and bathroom area that can’t fix it. Overall still the best out of the four I checked out.

Workout equipment: only a few out of order, which is great. Enough of a selection too where I didn’t feel like I had to wait too long to get onto something and mess up my routine. Also. The class going on looked like a lot of fun as it was packed.

Service: Anthony greeted me with a welcoming smile and inquired when I checked in about my complimentary workout plan, which is great to get that level of support for someone new. I shared I’m still trying out locations to see which one would work for me, and before I went to checkout the facilities he encouraged me to provide feedback (very important aspect of customer service). At the end of my workout I shared my findings/experience and they (J and Anthony) thanked me for taking the time to share and I felt appreciated. 5 star experience thus far…they know how to make a first impression.

Overall: I’m going to give this a 4 star for my first day as there is always room for improvement in anything. I could tell they take pride in their ā€œhomeā€ and with just a little TLC from both the gym and its members, I could see this being the 24hr Fitness flagship location in the South Bay…perhaps it already is? I could tell people were happier at this location and that they enjoyed working out here. Whether you are a beginner to the gym life or a lifetime member committed to fitness, I think that anyone could feel comfortable here. Kudos to J and Anthony and the staff there. I will be...

This gym has been going downhill ever since 24 Hour Fitness reopened following the pandemic.

Just the fact that most of the company's gyms aren't even open 24 hours a day anymore is a clear sign that they are not living up to their reputation.

Twice in 2022, the manager who was supposed to open the gym failed to show up. Not only did this put me and many others behind on our workout schedule, but the manager, whoever he or she was at the time, faced no repercussions for such unprofessional behavior!

The recent "remodeling" was the last straw for me. After the gym closed for one month and I had to check in at other nearby locations until it reopened, I found all they did was replace the carpets, give the walls a new paint job, and spread the equipment out.

And speaking of which, in order to make room for spreading all of the equipment in the gym out, they removed a certain type of cardio equipment I liked using and left only two units of a similar model that was a complete downgrade, and as a result of there only being two, they're often occupied by other gym members constantly, and more often than not, one of them goes out of order, leaving only one available.

On top of that, this was a perfect opportunity for them to replace all of the cardio equipment with new and improved models, but they didn't. Instead, they left us with the same crappy equipment in which many of the units are still out of order. The pool isn't any better either. Like the cardio equipment, it was exactly the same as before. The water is too warm, and members frequently violate the "2 swimmers per lane only" rule, and as a result, I have to wait a long time for my turn.

24 Hour Fitness Corporate had better read my review word for word and take it to heart, because they have now lost a long time member, and unless they start making some overdue improvements yesterday, starting with firing the incompetent cheapskates behind this so-called "remodeling" job, they will continue to lose more members and this gym will close...

The first gym i went to in san jose had 40-50 dumbbells on the ground and it was the hardest thing to find matching dumbells. So i called their customer service line to switch my membership to another location which was a lot nicer. When i got there i was impressed with the gym but when i went to scan my card it was invalid and the fat man at the counter wouldn't let me in. I asked him if i could just work out that night and come back in the morning to speak with a representative cause i lived 20 minutes away. I was treated like a high school kid as if i was trying to scam a free workout and it was embarrassing in front of other members that were standing nearby. So I called that same location in the morning and told them my story and how i was irritated at the man the previous night. They switched my membership over to that location and said i was good to go. When i went in the next time (which was the following week) my card came up as canceled!!! The same fat man from the previous visit was a complete dick again and would not look up the problem in the computer and said there was nothing he could do. I spent 100 dollars on that membership for 3 months before moving back out of state and with all the trouble i trying to get in and workout was maybe 6 times. So i spent around 20 dollars a workout. Such a horrible experience. Go spend your money elsewhere. Lifetime fitness in arizona was one of the most amazing experiences ever (although double the cost). I have had memberships at ymca and LA fitness. I would recommend any of those before 24...
