This was originally posted on yelp but I am so incredibly angry with the experience I had today that I feel the need to repost here.

Zumiez does not even deserve one star. I just went into this store with my two friends but i'll never be coming back in here again.

We walked in only to be bombarded by at least 4 sales associates telling us about the deals, which we had to repeatedly hear about 4 separate times. It seems like they are really forcing help upon customers which makes me think they work on commission, but I'm not sure. We asked where the swimsuits were and the employee spent a few minutes asking other employees where they were before realizing they didn't sell any (weird). My friend picked up an air freshener that she planned on buying and went to the back of the store to look at the men's graphic tees to find something else to purchase with the air freshener.

At this point a fifth sales associate came and started complimenting my other friends chains, to a point of harassment. He started to bring shirts for my friend to "compliment" his chains, and at this point we were so uncomfortable that my friend put down her air freshener on a pile of clothes and walked out, so she would not have to talk to other employees during the checkout process. It was annoying to say the least. I have never felt so pressured to buy clothes before.

We walked out of the store and this employee who was some sort of undercover loss protection (longish hair and in late 20s/early 30s, i hope she's reading this) comes running after us and holds her hand out and says "Air freshener?" as if assuming we stole the air freshener. At this point I realize the workers weren't even trying to be helpful, they were trying to make conversation to tell if we were trying to steal or not. My friend said she "left it on a pile of clothes" because she DID. The worker said, in the most condescending tone may i add, "would you like to show me where you put it?" My friend showed her the table she left it on and the worker looked almost disappointed that she had been proven wrong. She proceeded to say, "next time hand the item to us or put it back where you got it from if you don't want it." When have you ever heard a retail employee say "put that back where you got it from"? The workers are getting paid to keep the store looking tidy, it's not the customer's job. And if it is the customer's job, Zumiez, maybe make sure your workers aren't so pushy they're repelling customers from the store. If Zumiez is trying to lose business they're doing a great job. There were also way too many workers standing around and trying to push deals, which just reminds me how much I hate coming to the mall.

If you didn't read the whole thing, here's the takeaways: -way too many pushy employees. -management is rude and condescending and obviously has nothing better to do than accuse teenagers...

Ordered a Deck through website, got an error. Came into store, and saw that the transaction had gone through. When I tried to claim it, the new cashier (girl) hassled me for 3 forms of confirmation and claimed it to be policy that they couldn't get around. I had actually found a deck I wanted to switch it out for and started a return/exchange.

When I was ready to pay (more $ ontop of the 70$ I had already payed) the same girl said they couldn't run my work issued card because it didn't have my name. I showed proof to show that this card as given to me by my job and the immature cashier stood their and gave me a blank stare and basically repeated the same spiel 10 times saying it was impossible to charge my card since it didn't have my name. Even though I had already spent money in the store.

After becoming annoyed by the total lack of knowledge and immature behaivor of the cashier, I asked her to get her manager (which she should have done herself) and when the manager approached me (women with buzz hair cut & tattos) she was EXTREMLY RUDE. She put HER HAND in my FACE and cut me off mid sentence saying "I dont even have to let you shop IN MY STORE and that its store policy to have a name on the card" She ended up letting me use my card. Since its a legit card with a pin number she went around the "policy".

Why waste my time saying theres nothing you can do when there is a clear resolution and come up and claim that this HUGE chain store is "YOUR STORE" ?

Imagine working as a Zumiez Manager and Yelling at customers about the store Being YOUR STORE? who tf does that... you work at a mall...

This occured...

Racist worker about 5'10 maybe 5'9 long black hair and raspy voice called me and my friends racial slurs after accusing us of stealing (we did not steal). Since he has obviously been lonely his whole life, he decided to take his anger and pain out on us by accusing us and taking our phones. I did not at all feel safe around this man as my heart was racing because I felt in danger. We are just young teens trying to have some fun at the mall and this goofy goober decided to crash it. He "banned" us from his store but was nervously shaking as I am sure he has never confronted anyone...
