I have so many wonderful things to say about this spa that I hardly know where to begin. My husband and I have both been here on separate occasions and have nothing but compliments. My first visit was last week. My husband gave me very little information prior to going, only that I would be getting a full body scrub and massage. I was greeted by a friendly woman who issued me a uniform (mandatory if you will be visiting the co-ed parts of the facility), set of towels, a wristband for my locker, and quick info about the amenities. I arrived 45 minutes prior to my appointment which allowed time to take advantage of all that is offered. The sauna, steam room, in ground cold tub (like a swimming pool that you can't swim in, approximately the size of a 6 person spa tub filled with cool water), in ground hot tub/spa, showers, bathrooms, and locker room were all well stocked and very clean. Whomever designed the interior did a wonderful job of creating a relaxing atmosphere. The locker room had everything that you could think of needing before, during, or after a shower (ex: q-tips, hair dryer, water cooler, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, etc). The lighting is perfect! Not institutional and not seedy, the perfect proportion of dim but well lit with brighter lights accentuating areas where they are needed most like the vanities and bay of showers. On to the most EPIC part of the whole experience... the services! Helen was performing my services. She made me feel relaxed and cared for. Never, in my adult life, have I ever been exfoliated from head to toe. I felt as though Helen had scrubbed a few pounds of dead skin off my entire body because I left with radiant and baby soft skin. This was not like a using a loofa with some body wash that has microbeads in it... this was like a full on car wash for your body with an extra section filled with heavy duty scrub brushes. I can't articulate it perfectly, but the bottom line is that it didn't hurt but was not a light touch. It was such a thorough cleaning that all of the body soot, skin dander, or whatever you want to refer to it as was visible and reminiscent of deodorant goop under your fingernails after working a lather into an armpit. I have chronically dry skin/eczema. After this experience, I had to reevaluate how I approach a rough patch of skin because it is so easy to want to scratch but whatever type of mitt that Helen used allowed her to be intentional and apply even pressure and abrasiveness across the whole area. My elbows have not been this smooth in years! Enough about the icky body goo. The massage portion was amazing as well! Again, I feel the need to stress that this Spa is awesome because the massage was soothing without being unnecessarily fussy and you could tell that the purpose was not only relaxation but to work on problem areas. Helen did not have to ask me where my pain was or what level of pressure I needed, she just let my body tell her what areas were problematic... and she checked her work like she was doing a math problem!!!! She pulled my arms in various directions to gauge resistance and flexibility... in all of the years I had a Massage Envy membership, they NEVER did that!!! She even performed a cranial massage which was heaven for a migraine sufferer like myself. By the time I got up from the table, I felt like I had new skin and a new back... but the same kids that gave me the stress that Helen had just melted away. Oh well, guess she can't fix everything but there is always another appointment when life is...
Read moreUnfortunately, very mediocre experience overall. Facilities are lacking. In the bath area there is a dry sauna, steam room, a hot tub and a cold tub. Cleanliness is questionable. They didn’t provide slippers or asked if I wanted any when I checked in, but other people were wearing their own that they brought, which who knows how clean the bottoms of those are. usually these spas are very strict about either not wearing shoes or wearing the shoes that they provide to ensure cleanliness. After I came home, I immediately applied salicylic acid on my feet to disinfect them. I did a 90 minute scrub and massage combo which was 30 minutes scrub and 60 minute massage, but the 30 minute scrub was too long. She scrubbed all of my limbs fully at least 4 times. When I was on my back, she scrubbed everywhere except my back and when I was on my front she scrubbed everywhere again except my front, you get the point. it felt like she was just trying to fill the 30 minute time, but it was completely unnecessary and got kind of painful at the end. She also attempted to put a warm, wet towel over my private area while she’s scrubbed me, which maybe was to give me a sense of privacy but omg who else has she used that on?! Talk about a breeding ground for bacteria. I immediately took it off (also applied salicylic acid there as well when I came home). I’ve been to other Korean and Chinese spa and they’ve never done that before. The massage was also not good. The table is flat so there’s no face hole, so they had a raised face pillow which was so uncomfortable that I didn’t end up using it. There was very little actual massaging. It was mostly rolling your body with her elbow and digging her elbow into your back. Because of the pillow issue, my neck was constantly strained, and it was not comfortable or relaxing. I would not...
Read moreI was planning on having a great day that turned into a disaster. My appointment was for scrubbing and massage on 04/20/2024. The masseuse was very harsh with scribing, but that was not the biggest problem. After she was done scrubbing she did shampoo and conditioned my hair. After she rinsed me off with the shower she politely gave me the towel and told me to take a shower, and I did. After the shower I entered the changing room and I looked at myself in the mirror and I noticed that on top my head turned from blonde sandy highlight which was the one I came in with initially. I was literally shocked not knowing what’s going on. I called the manager and I asked why they colored my hair? She said that we don’t color hair here. They started saying things about me coming with red hair. I started showing them pictures and asked if they had the surveillance camera on that could prove them. They completely ignored what I was trying to say, and the owner continued to convince me like I was an idiot. He suggested that i didn’t know what I was taking about. I insisted on getting my money refunded. They weren’t interested in trying to remedy the situation in any way. The whole situation was terribly upsetting.
At this point I can only assume what they put a hair dye in my hair. The masseuse probably shampooed me with the colored shampoo, or henna, or some sort of eyebrow tint… who knows what she put on my hair. But the fact that the owner didn’t even bother to investigate the situation, or ask how he potentially could make things right. The whole situation was unfortunate. And I would recommend avoiding this establishment in...
